Prop Valve Leaking
 

I installed a CPP prop valve (PVKS-2) when I did a disc conversion 3 yrs ago. The valve is now leaking at the back but not at the line connection, it's leaking at a large nut that was already in place and never removed at install.

Anyone have any experience with this problem? Worth trying to get it to stop by tearing it down or just replace it?

I ordered this through Summit and it's no longer available but their replacement is close to $100. Any other suggestions?

Clean it off & try tightening as is. Watch to see if there is any improvement then go from there.

Tried that, it won't move at all, really tight already.

Sounds like its replacement time. Don't know that trying to rebuild is worth it.

I bought mine direct from CPP and it leaked the same way. I called their tech support and they sent me a replacement. It takes a odd size wrench to remove and be sure to use a backup wrench on the block when you remove it.

What is sealing the adapter? is it a flare type seal or a gasket type, on the idea of the gaskets on rubber brake hoses, to clappers?

Its an o ring that seals that rear adapter to the body.

I went with a Right Stuff prop valve, will be getting it installed before too long.
