Core support to fender fastner question
Fastner question here. As you know there is a triangular piece that holds the fender to the core support. On the top of thebtriangular piece there is a welded nut. Does a bolt go in it or is it for a hood bumper? I'm leaning towards a bolt but want to be sure.
Thanks |
Re: Core support to fender fastner question
Yep, it's for a bolt. The hood bumpers are farther forward.
You said the welded nut is on the top. On mine, it's on the bottom of the triangular piece. That said, the shop replaced my core support and may have assembled things wrong. |

the hood bumper goes on the grill just inside from the inside edge of the fender and the triangle plate should have the nut on the bottom,a 5/16's bolt goes through the flange on the back side of the rad support and into the triangle plate.i can make you a better picture in the morning if it's not clear.

The nut is on the bottom. One step closer. |
Re: Core support to fender fastner question
Also depends on year . The 67-68 trucks the hood bumper mounts on the grill itself
