Looks like a nice truck.

Keep us posted on it.

I was scared of it at first, with just a 5 sp, but loaded it down with 532 bushel of wheat and headed for the mill, weight ticket said total- 51568lb, product weight-32987. It did suprisingly well. But top speed empty is 47! If something happens to the 427 I'll probably put a cummins with a 10sp rr.

It seems like it doesn't have a 2-Speed Rear.

Surprised that it only goes 47 MPH.

My old '62 GMC 6500 with a 478 V-6 would go 62.

The '71 9500 with a 637 V-8 would go 60.

I believe both had governors to boot.

How much is it revving at 47 MPH?

3500rpm, glovebox spid says 7.44 rear ratio

If it's a true Twin Screw, you may want to consider a 3-Speed Aux Trans with an Overdrive instead. With that you would not only increase your MPH, but you would be getting 15 Speeds to boot. I would do the math first though to see what you would be getting.

its a true twin screw, with locking rears. Problem is, even though I grew up driving 5 and 4's, I have people driving for me that it would be impossible to teach that to. I think the spicer 5sp had the same acme bell housing as the roadranger has? Be nice to even put it behind the 427 for now.

A Road Ranger would be nice, if it will interchange, especially one with an Overdrive.

I had a 10-Speed RR behind my 637 V-8 Gas in my '71 9500.

Great Transmission.
