79' Chevy / GMC 3/4 4x4 frame with trans/transfer case

For sale is a 1979 Chevy / GMC 3/4 4x4 frame with springs, (NO AXLES), Turbo 400 trans, converter, and I believe a 203 t-case. Don't know condition of trans/transfer, but I did notice the pan is dented in... so I would atleast suggest pulling pan before trying to make it work. The frame is in good condition for its age, and it appears it did have a gooseneck hitch (missing the actual ball). It will also come with a decent front bumper, and a custom rear. I also have a custom front heavy duty bumper that I can make you a good deal on. I am hoping to peel the cab and bed off of it this weekend and will upload photo's/ new findings then. If you have questions please don't hesitate.

I am asking $350 for it all. I will separate if the frame is sold first. Call / text 317-402-9260 8am-7pm eastern.

Bring a trailer.... and a few people to help. I don't have a fancy way of loading it.. but have another truck that I could pull it up on with.

I will get one, but its not in good shape. I also have a passenger door that is in decent shape. Has a small dent in it, and VERY little surface rust. Also has holes for big mirrors I believe. Ill ad photos of it soon also.

Nathan, are you still interested in the dash pad?

Tow hooks are free with purchase of frame

Or tow hooks are $350 and I'll throw frame in free.

Your choice 😊

In case anyone is thinking of purchasing this I have the 10 bolt front axel and 14 bolt rear axels here in NJ just itching for this frame for sale... I did PM Seventy468 prior to posting this and received permission for this post. If you buy the frame we can talk about the axels if you need them

Attached are three photos, two of a passenger side door and one of a rear bumper per request. The door is in good shape other than a dent that you can see, and a little surface rust. I can get more photos of the underside of the door if needed. $50 for the door.

Long time no talk lol. Sorry for delay but how about adding the leaf spring supports and cross member supports to my bill? Ones that go here. The spring hanger support and the cross member support. If u can pull em today or sometime this week for a reasonable price I could pick up next weekend with the pad!

Hey Nathan, sorry for delay. That cross member is already spoken for, and I am going to try to keep the frame itself as intact as possible in hopes that someone will want it, because without those I cant imagine anyone wanting it for anything more than its weight in scrap.

Whenever you plan to make a trip let me know ahead of time because I have a little one due any day now and I may or may not be available.

Thanks again.

No problem. We did some measuring and it should only take a little fab work to use that cross member in our 72. I know a few other board members mentioned they were getting ready to axe their cross members in the next few months, but we hope to be back rolling in that time. If something comes up you'll be the first to know. And as it turns out the spring hangers are junk. They were full of crap, and after removing that cross member I cleaned them out only to find there is hardly anything left of them. So with that being said I don't think I will advertise/sell the frame anymore. I'll put it back for another project down the road, however I still have the TH400/203 for sale, and some miscellaneous parts off the frame that I'll part with.

Still have the Turbo 400/203 if anyone is interested. Also have some odds and ends off the frame.

I've got a use for the 400 and 203, but I think the shipping would kill it... :(....

So, what is the possibility of getting the rear driveshaft ends? i.e cut the yoke off the differential end with a foot or so of the shaft and then the complete slip yoke end and about a foot or so the shaft. Or even the whole thing shipped to 23323?

before you lose hope, is there a Fastenal near you? A friend of mine had some 38 inch tires shipped using Fastenal from TN to IN, and it was surprisingly reasonable. Now, I don't know exactly how that works, but I would be more than willing to go ask them if that's something you'd be interested in.

Honestly I've never shipped anything that large, I would take it and get a quote if I knew how to "package" it or whatever you would do with that.

Cutting the ends off wouldn't be a huge deal I don't think.

And for anyone reading all of this, my previous post about Fastenal, I think the deal is that it has to fit on a pallet.... but again it was all second hand info. Ill do some digging.

Re: 79' Chevy / GMC 3/4 4x4 frame with trans/transfer case

Let me measure what I need. The driveshaft would need to be shortened anyways. Could probably pack it in a tube carton. I do not think the over all length would be greater than 4'. Thanks,

Jim

Re: 79' Chevy / GMC 3/4 4x4 frame with trans/transfer case

Most everything still for sale. Going to go ahead and try to move the frame. The front spring hangers would need some attention and it is missing the crossmember directly in front of where the rear axle would be. Make an offer, it has the tow hooks up front, steering box, and most of the brake, fuel lines, along with the fuel tank. Would be perfect for someone looking to cut it up for a project, such as making a pulling truck out of it. Also still have the turbo 400/203 t/c. Am stopping tonight to look at shipping options.
