Exhaust Manifold Paint??????

I am having to replace my driver side exhaust manifold and I found one for 20 bucks. I am going to get it sand balsted to insure a good seal and I thought it would be a good time to dress it up a bit. I was wondering if any body has had any success with any of the high temp spray paints when trying to paint exhaust manifolds?????? :mm:

Would the high temp black spray paint for grills work? It did for my intake manifold and valve covers but of course they don't get as hot.

That is what I was thinking but like you said valve covers do not get as hot as exhaust manifolds.

Any autoparts store sells the 1500 or 2000 degree paint in silver or black. I dunno the brand name but i got it in silver and painted the exhaust housing of my 60/16 cm H1c hybrid turbo on my diesel. I have had her up to around 1500 degrees via pyro and the paint still looks pretty good.

I have good luck with the Eastwood factory grey also. Just brush it on. My small block manifolds are getting kind of crusty looking now but that was ten years ago too.

Ditto.
I used the Eastwood factory gray and am happy with the results.
FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. If memory serves, the fumes coming off the paint when it first cures is not intended for your lungs. After that you should be good to go.

I think they turned out good if I do say so myself...

Eastwood is great stuff and durable. Use a foam brush and you won't get brush marks and warm the manifold on the BBQ for 5 minutes then let it sit overnight. Fumes are bad when you warm it whether you do it on the engine or off so be sure it is outside to vent the fumes.

Another vote for Calyx! It doesn't burn off and can be easily touched up if needed since it's a thick paste. It looks alot more natural than paint too. The last pic is after driving it about 100 miles.
