Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say HI and show ya'll some pics of my project. Mine is a '72 C-10 with a 4 cyl turbo diesel from a tractor in it. My Dad put the engine in there back in '83 when he worked for Allis Chamlers. He drove it for about several years until the crank broke. Then it sat in the bushes until I was 15 when I pulled the engine, rebuilt it and got it back on the road.It is still a working progress on the body work though. Sitting in the bushes for 8 years did not help it any.

Well anyway, I have enjoyed the site so far and look forward to learning from you guys. Here are a couple of pics of it.

That is pretty neat man! Will it still move along at highway speed or does it run as slow as a tractor? :welcome2: to the board from KY!

The engine only turns about 3200 RPMS so with 4th gear being 1:1 ratio it tops out about 75 mph. My dad have a side load overdrive in it originally, which would it would run over a 100 with. But the diesel was to much torque and I busted it.

Hey Andy:hiya:
I worked for Allis Chalmers for a loong long time - Electrical Power Division. I thought many times about putting an A-C diesel in my Chevy back then, but just never did it. I'm new here too and it looks like this is a great site for information.
