Late model seat swaps,Pleasse school me

I did what i thought to be a solid search here, but came up short. I was wandering if there are any of you folks that have swapped out you seat with other later model vehicles rather it be car or truck seats. The seat i have is pretty much shot. If you have a pic i would really appreciate the chance to look at it. I know i have 59 1/2 inches from door panel to panel. Hoping i can find a swap that has the flip down center seat/arm rest. Thanks for any help

$23.00 LKQ find from a 1989 Chevy truck. Fits perfectly in the truck, and with the tank under the bed, the extra room is great.

I'm working on swapping an 88-90's Chevy bench into my 69. I was wondering what all you guys did to mount it? Did you use the brackets off the newer seat or somehow swap the original brackets off the old seat?

I've got the seat sitting in my truck now and love it. It sits a little lower than the stock seat and feel great!

Just need to figure out now how everyone here is mounting them.

Haven't done it myself but have set a later model seat in the cab. Believe everyone is re-drilling holes and using a plate for re-enforcement under the cab. Doubt more than one or two holes in the floor will be re-useable.

I've got the new bench seat sitting in the truck and love the feel of it. Here are a couple of pics. once I have it mounted, next step will be recovering in black w/ houndstooth inserts.

Here's a thread that some have posted pics to:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=447657

I (just this weekend) found a set of seats that are out of '99-'06 Tahoe, Suburban, etc. that I am planning on swapping into mine. From what I gather the swaps are usually pretty simple. It just requires a couple holes drilled and some extra backing placed under the cab for support.

These are the ones I got for $85 at Pull-a-Part:

Here are some I got from theseatguy.com.

They are second row seats from some 2011 SUV. They are leather and very comfortable.
They also fit the truck very well.
Cheers!

Just finished recovering my seat, brackets made so it bolts right in.

I mocked mine up but haven't installed them yet. The truck is still in the body shop. Here is the seat that's going in. It's the 2nd row out of a 99 Suburban.

The seat was out of 1990-94 Chevy truck I believe. Got the seat as an extra with another truck I bought a few months back.

Thanks! I am very happy with how it turned out. Got the houndstooth material for $19.95 a yard. (upholstery guy needed 2 yards) www.YourAutoTrim.com

He charged me $350 for the labor to build the custom cover and that included the black vinyl. The foam also needed a little build up. It was squashed on the drivers side from use...

Total project to re-cover came in under $400.00

another vote for early 90's chevy truck. this the third one of these truck i've used them in. it's the first thing i look for when i get another one. they're actually a little bit too short. but, if you center it up it looks ok.

i use the factory seat brakets, i drill a hole in the floor and use big washers on the bottom. also, i just put in shoulder harness seat belts from an 85 chevy they work great with these seats

99 f150 60/40 split bench with fold down center armrest. Custom Ultra Leather, Ostrich, and hugger orange vinyl. Had to build entire sub frame out of square tub aluminum stock and mount seat to it then mount to exisiting bench seat holes.

2004 Blazer. Used the blazer seat "slider" seat brackets. Used a couple of the stock holes, and a couple of new ones that
I re-enforced under the cab. Misc rubber "towers" to get to the right height. Blazer seat bracket (mounting point) covers.
Plumbed the electrics into the fuse block.

I think they look pretty good. But that's a personal perspective.

I *do* know this: They are comfy.
