Maine 71 Blazer Restoration/Build

Been browsing the forum for a while now, it's time for my first post!

My 71 Blazer has not been loved in a very long time. It was a yard truck before it was given up on. It runs and drives, but not well. Someone put a 250 straight 6 and 3 speed trans. The floor will need total replacement, and the cargo area needs patching. As well as a bunch of other rust repair.

I'll be going to a 350/TH350 combo, as the 307 just won't be enough for my heavy foot. Back to Hugger Orange, and possibly original interior depending on price and availability. The frame is the only hope this Blazer had, otherwise the last owners would have scrapped it. A total frame up restoration is on the agenda.

The progress though will be slow going to start, as my garage is the top priority. Having a place to leave it apart is essential. I enjoy every post from you fellas, and am fascinated with all the information and problem solving that passes through the forum.

Nice project - get plenty of before pix so when you get frustrated on the build - you can reflect on how far you have come and the progress you are making towards driving again.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. Blazers now have way more replacement sheet metal than they did even 5 years ago - so things are getting better each year.

Thanks guys! Frustration is already here! Never enough time or money haha! A blank canvas is the best way to go at it!
