Re: Under bed Tool Box Door
At one time I think a fiberglass door was made but now...I don't think anyone re pops these. Your best best is to keeps tabs in the for sale section and once in a while ebay might offer one. I might be wrong so 'll let other chime in.

There's one at the local junk yard. I will grab it if you want to pay for shipping.

sorry guys, the door is gone....

Re: Under bed Tool Box Door
Thanks for looking. Most all these rusted out, bad design. I have one of the rusted ones, I also have a really nice complete setup (door, box, hardware, trim, etc.) but I'll save it for someone that needs the whole thing for a class restoration.
Good luck in your search, here's a bump for ya... |
Re: Under bed Tool Box Door
Thanks for the gesture! Too bad its gone already. I cant believe how hard it is to find these things. Someone could make some good money if they could find a way to make a bunch for cheap. All of the trucks that make it into salvage yards here are picked clean within days of arriving. That being said Ive never even seen another truck in person besides mine that has that tool box on it.

. . . .
Here's the door from my 1970 - before and after. It was a lot of work to re-skin it, but it was well worth the cost. . . . . |

I wouldn't mind telling you, if I knew . . . I didn't do the work myself and the guy who did it said he had MANY hours in it !!! ( I just kept giving him money !!! ) He ordered a patch panel, similar to #2 below from page 27 of LMC's catalog. ( but for the other side of course ) He cut out the door and used the rest to form the lower part's "lip" needed for my truck. I'll see if he has some pictures of the process. . . . . |
Re: Under bed Tool Box Door
I would love for someone to take a good bedside toolbox door off and have someone make an AutoCAD drawing of it so I can put it in a CNC machine. I will help with the cost. :metal:

Re: Under bed Tool Box Door
I just restored mine but I need a Latch for it. I have the Key Cylinder and the inner latch but the outer part is missing. I had to fabricate 2 of the 3 hinges too.

Re: Under bed Tool Box Door
Randall, the owner, at RTech Fabrications was making the bottom part of the outer bed side and may still be able to make you one.
I bought 2. Check him out! |
