Got a little done last night. Rattle canned black the front/shroud area, so it's nice and clean before I put the grille and etc back in.

I really want to see how the 1 ton swap goes for you. I am happy that you decided not to do it all at once.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

thank's, need to gather up more parts before I start the swap. Need frt and rear driveshafts, brake upgrades, steering setup, etc. Gotta do the rear axle shackle flip, mount up frt and rear bumpers, winch, wow!

Got a little crazy with the black rattle cans, and painted up all of the lower stuff! Also got some real nice "B" pillar panels from Wes today, they are sweet! Pic's tommorrow!

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

I know I have asked this question many times before, but here I go again. Swapping in frt and rear 1 ton axles and want to upgrade to a 1 ton brake setup. I am always looking for the simple solution here, and have not found it yet. Any help here, Pic's, threads, etc, guy's? Getting close to setting up the rear disc conversion on my 14 bolt corp, and want to start working on the entire brake setup purchase.

I swapped in a Dana 60 in my 69 K20 earlier this year - here is a link to my thread that should give you some good info.

Re: My new build thread: Stage 4!

Just got my last shipment of disc brake conversion parts for the 14 bolt rear axle. Looks real good, Blackbird Customs. Rotors, calipers, pads, brackets, spacers, short brake hoses, bolts, brake hose clips, and even a couple of custom weld on hose brackets! Took some pic's and will post up later. Big step here for me. Still need u-bolts for the rear swap, and of course shock setup, but getting closer everyday!

Thank's YJ! Sorting thru some issues on this disc kit, might take a while to figure it out!

Going to a Mud Run in Luther Mi. tommorrow, should be fun. I'll take some pic's for ya! I always take my 35mm, but harder to post on the computer. I still love the hard pic's though! Nothing done on the K5, working on sorting out details of the rear disc conversion kit. More later.

Crawled under yesterday and removed the frt and rear axle trusses/skid plates. Gonna clean em up good and spray a fresh coat of paint. Then off to the F/S pile.

Man, I've been way busy with the pic's, anybody else working on this type of project? Help me out here, have to work tomm, but could use some encouragement here! Kinda at a stalemate, have to pay off stuff before new stuff can be ordered! Back to why I'm working tommorrow!

Here's some photos of my 1 ton swap progress for you. So far all new bearings and brakes front and rear and rebuilt kingpins and a lot of cleaning and painting and new shock mounts for the rear. Getting close to putting it all in, just waiting for a few last parts.
