small block distributor problems

I have a 1970 k20 that i just put new heads on, and when i went to adjust the distributor i found that it is pinched tight against the fire wall, and to move it i have to jack up the transmission so the front of the engine lowers and pulls the distributor away from the fire wall. Has any one seen this, and is there a smaller HEI coil i can put on it, what are my options?

its probably cause the motor frame mounts are on the rear holes and clearance back there gets real tight. is this an upgrade from a points dizzy? have you tried taking the cap off then dropping it in? if you still can't get it to go in then you can buy a points eliminator kit that replaces the points turning the dizzy into a more digital dizzy.

I've heard that the '67-'72 K series trucks don't really have enough clearence for an HEI. Was this distributor in this truck prior to the head change?
