Custom Auto Sound Head Unit (AM/FM/Aux), 2 4inch Kenwood 2 ways in the dash. 2 6.5 3 way Kenwood in the kickpanels, 2 6.5 Kenwood in the rear along with a 10 inch Kenwood sub all running off one 900 Kenwood amp. Sounds awesome.

Here's a custom box we build for my dad's '71 C10. I'll be doing something very similar for my '77 K10. We wanted to make it fit as well as possible with the curve of the back wall just under the window. It's all MDF for the center box. The sides we made out of MDF and fiberglass. The 6x9's are recessed into the box to be covered with some hardware cloth (still looking for the right kind). It'll be upholstered soon in a black marine type vinyl with a very low grain.

The 6x9's are temporary. Hopefully we'll get some new ones in there this summer. It sounds awesome though! I couldn't be more happy with the way it turned out. Turned out nice for both sound quality AND volume!

If you notice the amp is mounted IN the box. Same idea as the 6x9's there. It'll be covered with some hardware cloth later on. There's a 12v DC fan down below which runs off the remote power to the amp. It pulls cool air in and pushes warm air out the vent holes I left in the top of the box. It pushes air into the cavity under the back window and the air disburses from there. It runs nice and cool!

hope you dont mind i think i will copy that in my 69 looks just like what i wanted i can picture the finished product looks great

Hmmm, I never posted in this one yet. Nothing crazy, but sounds good and is plenty functional for the look and use of my truck.

Doors were already cut so I made lower door cards to help anchor and insulate the speakers. We built the center console with the components in it; crossovers inside, along with the amp and a little tray. The head unit is a Pioneer that is a bunch of years old but works great and was high end back in 2008.

Custom on a budget... 4" in the door panels. I will install matching 6x9's in the lower front corner when the truck comes back from paint. Going with a USA-230 (Classic Parts of America) so it looks more like original and won't have to cut the dash. I chose this radio also because I will be able to just plug my phone in to it and us Pandora. No big amps or anything just simple.

Custom install from scratch with side access panels to a fire extinguisher and the jack on the other side. The door panels were made to match. Usb, Bluetooth, fm, sd card slot and 1/8 head phone jack.

Metaldoc...this looks great! One of the best behind the seat setups I've seen. If you have the pics of the build or dimensions to share I would greatly appreciate it.

I wish I took dimensions but didn't, it's two 8" subs and two 6.5" full range. I'ce since added two 4.5" in the dash using the original speaker to mount them.

Post up a few pics of what I ended up building. Everything still need upholstery work, but I am very happy with the quality of the sound and the function of the box etc. Hopefully, it gives someone else some ideas for their own.

Nice stuff guys. When/IF my 85 gets out of paint jail, (3+yrs so far), it will get a nice minor setup, but lets hear about some alarm setups and pics too.

I know there has to be some with all this great equipment that everyone has installed!? Mine will need one because I had a nice stereo stolen yrs ago from my worktruck and this '85 will be my last worktruck including toolboxes/tools/parts/electronics to guard - at home and on the job.

Thinking about a Custom Autosound in-dash (to look stock & not tempting), 4" in the new dash, 6x9 corners, powered sub under the seat. Alarm with power door lock feature, and auto start - if I use fuel injection.
