How Low? Already having issues in the drive. Why I am bagging this one.
Had to pull radiator, little leakage at top hose. Jim at Pickerts here in Las Vegas took care of this for me in 98 or 99. Not bad for 52 year old radiator. This is a V flow and not a cross flow. Still chills the 400 with 5 inches between fan and radiator no shroud. I was told I needed to drive it more so these problems don't happen.

Pickart's in Henderson next to the Skyline? They did some work for me in the past... radiators, gas tanks and heater cores... also did great work!

truck looks good... where do you find out about all the car shows in Vegas? Anything on Saturday or Sunday evenings?

There are a few Facebook pages. Boulder City Cruising association, Hellkat shows, the LV car show one is not working or taking down. But look up Cars and Coffee on Eastern and 215 on Saturday mornings, Tuckers Classic Truck has one Saturday morning and they have flyers. I am going to there show this Saturday in Boulder. The end of the month is Super Run and Wurst Dam Show.
Las Vegas Cruisin Association, Las Vegas Car Clubs are key Google search. Plus lots of time you will get flyers at meets. Carlos over at DC Sound knows lots of people and Severed Ties member keeps me informed and does my stereo stuff.

Why pay $65 to show when you can park 5ft away for free?

After measurement 11 inch at rear most frame. Limited by shocks and axle to wood might make for additional amount. At least more room in notch and tubs.

My first instinct is to go smell the tires.
My dad always worked at a tractor company when I grew up.
Some Saturdays he would take me along when he had to do parts inventory.
I'd run around the place playing on the tractors.
I liked the smell of the tires. This would be the early 70's.

I know what farm frisbees and road apples smell like, and tires running through them. Always did like the smell of grandpa's machine shed, greasy. You knew what kind of day you're going to have when the manure spreader was hooked up.

looks like your enjoying the truck, love to see people driving them and just leaving them shut up in the garage. I was trying to remember where I had seen the ford before then I saw the windshield ...counts customs, nice pictures too, gotta love car shows, great place to get ideas.

Yea, that's a Counts Customs car. Parked next to buddy's s10 at Super Run last week. The roof is black with heavy metal red flake. Looks bad ass.

So just got back from NM. Yes I did stop and stand on a corner in Winslow, AZ. This is my Cummins reading for the week, the 500 mile trip home average was 25 mpg this is for those who doubt 20 to 30 mpg. Speed was 25-60 for 30 mile to job. This was for two weeks above 30. In 27 to 70 degree days 5 to 6000 feet.

New 225/70/15 replace 13+ year old 235/60. Closer to 245/45/18 that will be installed with front crossmember install. The 67-72 rear bumper install took longer than planned. Got to use new helmet, nice having auto dim vs iron man. Welder working great, did 3 pass weld just in case. Looks like one piece ground down.

I like the rear bumper, I did the same on my 66.

How do you like the cpp big brakes? Are they worth the $1800?

LVPhotos 11-17-2014 11:29 PM

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build

Not in yet, only $1200. Anything is better than drums. Few more parts and I will be ready for crossmember install.

MatcoTools63 11-17-2014 11:39 PM

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build

1200? Did you just get the fronts or something? I was thinking about the front and rear kit and its like 1800 :/

LVPhotos 11-18-2014 12:34 AM

Re: LVPhotos 1962 Build

Just front. Did 5 lug axle and drums out back. My mechanical buddies said stick with drums. Seems a lot of rear disks having issues.
