1949 Chevy w/292
I'm installing a Chevy 292 in a 1949 Chevy 1/2 ton. Does anyone know where I can get rear engine mounts for this setup? I'm looking for mounts that go between the bell housing and the crossmember. The bell housing connection site flares up which matches the angle of the crossmember. Thanks

First of all Great to see you on this site.
Maybe Aspen Parts in Arizona. Or, if you were a paying member you could place a request in the for sale section of the 60-66 parts, someone would surely have one there. From the site rules: "As always a basic membership on the forum comes with no charge. You may post a reply in any of the Classified Forums. You will not have the ability to offer items "For Sale", "For Trade", or make a "Wanted to Buy" or "What's it Worth" post." |

This is all just a thought but if you go to the top of the home page and click on search you can put in anything you want information on and do some research. Which ever way to do it it will be a much better truck, good luck. Being as how you are new to this site, you would benefit if you were to pay the $25.00 annual fee to join as mentioned earlier, there is a vast knowledge here on this site available to you that way. I believe you may have to join also to use the search. Good luck. |

Re: 1949 Chevy w/292
I have a 5 speed Tremec. I think I'll be going with biscuit mounts that will go between the crossmember and the bellhousing. To achieve a 3 deg. pitch there's about a 1 1/2 inch gap between the two surfaces. Thanks for the help
