"that motor ran great before I pulled it"

I was told, "You could probably re-seal it and run it, just the way it is"
Sure glad I didn't do that. Attachment 2035648 Not really a problem, it is still a good core, and that's what I bought it for. You never know, 'til you tear 'em down. |
Re: "that motor ran great before I pulled it"
If I don't see it run or apart I assume its a core plus what ever may be bolted on the outside. It may have run good but what was the standard for good? I always like the ads that say corvette motor. Never new there was so many of em. That one has had a hard life.

Just like, "Ran when it was parked."
I was just going to put a used Vortec in my Blazer. My wife insisted I should rebuild it. I'm glad I listened to her. |
Re: "that motor ran great before I pulled it"
Ya that "Ran when it was parked." Phrase to me usually means "run forrest".

Re: "that motor ran great before I pulled it"
A spare top ring and you're good to go. Don't forget to unstick the oil ring.
A guy came by and picked up my old 250. He even gave me a hundred bucks for it and cleaned a lot of scrap out of my garage. |
