What are your capabilities? Do you have the means to weld it properly? If not here is another method.

Here is the newest version of the power brake booster adapter bracket that I've been making since 1993. This bracket is fabricated from laser cut 10ga mild steel and fits 1960-62 Chevy and 1960-63GMC Pickups, Suburbans and panels and is 100% bolt on using holes already in your firewall. The booster side of the bracket has a 3 3/8" x 3 1/2" hole pattern. Boosters with this pattern are commonly found on S10's and full size pickups, Suburbans, Blazers and Tahoes from 1988 to at least 1998. You can also find compatable boosters on early to mid 70's Impala's. Of course you will have to join the booster pushrod to your stock MC pushrod that attaches to your brake pedal. This can be done by either threading both ends and using a coupling nut, or by just welding them together once you determine the correct length.

I have had the original version ('63-'66) of this bracket on my '66 Suburban and have driven over 120,00 miles with no issues. I have also installed these on a couple of local pickups with good results as well. If you are wanting to add hydroboost to your pickup, Suburban or Panel I also offer a mounting plate for the hydroboost HERE

The price on the bare steel brackets is $55.00 plus a flat $12.35 shipping in the US. If you are located elsewhere contact me for shipping charges. You can also get this bracket in a satin black powder coat for an additional $6.50. Mounting hardware is included.

Hey Capt Fab,

Re: '60-'62 Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

You do realize that this for sale thread is for a '60-'62 booster bracket correct? And you do need a '63-'66 standard booster bracket?

There is no best steering box. All truck based steering boxes are interchangeable from the '68-'86 C series and the '87-'91 R series trucks, Suburbans and 2wd K5 Blazers. The one difference is the fitting style change in about 1980. There was a variable ratio box offered as a option but there is no way to ID that steering box that I know of. Yes you must use the pitman are designed for the power steering box. I am assuming you need just the steering box adapter plate and not the tube and flange also?

I will send you a PayPal invoice.

All of my booster brackets now come with slotted booster mounting holes to also accept aftermarket universal boosters with the 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" center to center mounting studs.

thanks, what is the thinnest booster that I can use with your bracket? I bought a bracket from you years ago and have changed my system a few times since. Yours is the closest to the firewall I have found and gonna get another one from you.

Captainfab 04-16-2018 11:24 PM

Re: '60-'62 Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

I do not know what booster is the thinnest. You will have to find a single diaphram booster from the list of compatible boosters. You do realize that the thinner single diaphram boosters give less braking assist that a same diameter dual diaphram booster, correct?

yes, I just want the cleanest look. what is your best suggestion on the booster?

Captainfab 04-20-2018 12:09 AM

Re: '60-'62 Power Brake Booster Adapter Bracket

I would go with any of the many, many compatible dual diaphram boosters or with a hydroboost as you asked about in your PM to me.
