Is LMC the only place to buy parts?

So in my search for a front to rear brake line, I'm looking for an alternative to LMC. I'm not saying anything is wrong with them, I'd just like to comparison shop. Are they're any other reputable companies out there or maybe Ebay stores?

Re: Is LMC the only place to buy parts?

If you are referring to the steel line, they can be had at the auto parts stores and not hard to bend up yourself

I looked up one from Right Stuff Detailing. Had horrible reviews. Several complaints that they weren't shaped like the original. So they're out, and that's who Summit carries.

Has anyone ever bought one from Classic Industries? It has the same part number as the one mentioned above.

I've bought transmissions cooler lines and some other odds and ends from classic industries and I have zero complaints.

Classic Industries's doesn't specify coil or leaf....

Get on the phone and talk to somebody. I use Inline Tube because that's what they do. I always try to buy closest to the source, not from the largest retailers. I've bought Eastwood Cast Blast, Spray Grey, rallye wheel paint, etc for years... from the company that makes it, not Eastwood. Inline tube makes automotive tubing formed to factory specs, same as OEM suppliers only for restorations.

This thread title cracks me up.

Question: "Is LMC the only place to buy parts?"

Answer: "No, but it is the worst place!"

How can anyone read this forum and not know what LMC is about, who all the various parts dealers out there are, and who is best to buy what from? This place is here for asking questions and the same questions are bound to be asked over and over. We expect that. It's the way this question was asked that struck me. It's like hopping off the train and asking where the station is

I highly recamend Inline Tube. I used there pre-bent stainless steel lines on my 69 GTO and they were awesome!

Similarly, I could not find the correct rear line for my 72 GMC. Large retailers only showed a two piece line. Sent pics to Inline Tube and customer rep said "I can send you that one right away." Great service.

Re: Is LMC the only place to buy parts?

The Classic Industries number are as follows in these links...

Long Bed 67 - 72
https://www.classicindustries.com/pr...s/tin6808.html

Short Bed 67 - 72
https://www.classicindustries.com/pr...s/tin6801.html

There is no difference in the front to rear pipe for either coil or leaf rears, as the pipe exits the chassis at same place.

I just bought it from Inline Tube. Classic Industries is made by Right Stuff Detailing, which I've read bad reviews on

Thank y'all for all of your knowledge and input on this. You guys are a wealth of knowledge!

No, they are the last place I'd look for parts.

The 2 best referrals for parts around this website speak for themselves, that would be the following:

GMC Pauls

Woodall Industries

As far as I know, Woodall Industries is a wholesaler only...no retail sales...

GMCPauls is a great source....

drummerboy ordered the line from InlineTubes...

Hope he got the two lines across the rear end and some wheel cylinders...the rust on that photo tells me the truck has seen some nasty weather at some time...anyhoo...

I am sure he will yell out of he needs any further help...just wait until he goes to bleed that 50 + year old master cylinder !!!!
