1969 Blazer... Resurrected after a decade in hiding

2 Attachment(s)
I bought a 1969 Blazer in early 2003 while stationed in New Mexico. I towed it home to Michigan when I got out of the military that summer. Due to numerous issues and lack of funding, it found it's way to the back of my shop. I moved to Tennessee about 8 years ago now, but refused to part with the Blazer, so it stayed in MI with family. Now it is finally about to see the light of day again. I will try to keep progress posted as it gets brought back to life.

Here are a couple pictures of it in 2003 when I first bought it.

Thanks guys. Initial plans are mechanical. Body will come off to get at everything easier. It has a 250 in it now, which will be replaced with a 350 out of a 1972 truck. The transfer case grenaded, so a new one will go in. All the brakes, suspension, and fuel lines will have to be gone through. New exhaust, bushings, etc, etc, etc...

Once it is running again, I'll start on the body. Obviously it needs a few patch panels, then a little body work, some fresh paint (won't be light blue but will be a 1969 color) and new window/door seals. Eventually interior to match the new paint, a roll bar, some nice wider painted steel wheels, and conservative but larger tires. Probably 33" ATs.

My goal is to be driving it with the top off this summer. We'll see how that goes.

Nice project. If your looking for a Excellent body/ paint guy in your area. I have a friend that lives in louisville and occationally works out of his home shop. He used to live in maryville off of 321. he has done all my paint work. I in fact drive down the 1000 miles just for that. plus i get to hang with a good friend. pm me if your interested.

Love it! I'm new here as well and bought a '72 last Saturday after waiting for around 17 years. Couldn't be more stoked! Good luck with the build!
