i am going to put a 496/8.1 aluminum oil pan on it, deep hughes 4l80e aluminum trans pan, and a ta performance rear aluminum diff cover with girdle. change all fluids and filters and put the new tires on then just drive it and enjoy.

Good lookin truck you've got started. Wish mine was in that condition lol! I'm looking forward to the 8.1 oil pan install. Is it deeper than the 7.4?

They both are 6 quart pans. I'm curious too. No real advantage. Steel will bend when something hits it. Cast aluminum will crack.

FYI, its not a Silverado.

Nice truck though. Some paint on the hood and the front flares and it would look great.

thanks everyone for the encouraging words. i prefer the aluminum pans is the only factor. no real advantages. as tall as this truck is and with the lift kit structural under the pan its very unlikely i would hurt the pan ever.

i was installing new moog balljoints today, uppers and lowers, and i noticed the a arm bushings are shot. so i called around and none of the local dealers had them in stock, called to see if any shops had a prothane kit... no luck. they all said we can have them by tues... lol. dont want the truck down for that long. so i had some 3" poly round stock on the shelf, took some measurements and chucked it up in the lathe and made my own... about an hour later i had them installed on the truck.

Beefy. You OK with rear wheel clearance? Looks tight.
