DT Tri-Y and CEL

Hi Ya'll,

Its been a couple months since I last posted here, but I'm trying to fix a CEL issue for O2 sensors withthe DT Tri-Y ceramic coated headers. The codes are always "Slow response" for both sides. DT mentions:

"INSTALLATION NOTES
Installation of these headers will trigger a CEL (check engine light). This minor problem can be corrected with either a performance tune or tuner, and/or an o2 sensor simulator offered by many companies in the aftermarket."

I'm getting a tune this next week but wanted to know if this is the only fix for this issue. I have this issue on both an LM7 (2002) and a LQ4 (2006) with the same 3/4" diameter Tri-Y headers.

Thanks for any insight ya'll may have!

John

An o2 sim on the pre cat would be pointless.. the point of the pre cat se does is to measure the oxygen in the exhuast.. the computer calculates and makes changes. A sim
. Well.. it wont.. A performance tune sounds like an SD tune? I would ask DT if that's what they meant.

All they mean is that a tuner will disable reporting for those codes. I.E the problem won't change, you just won't see it anymore.

Interesting. I've run several sets of these headers and never had an issue with 02 sensor codes. Were the rear O2's turn off in your tune?
