Probably a stupid question (I am best at these!); what is the significance of the tow hook equipped trucks?

Not a stupid question. No significance other than this option is seldomly encountered and oddly wasn't listed as available on pickups with a chrome bumper though examples of the combo are documented.

I know that this is an old thread, but what is the "Canadian Base" option? I have a 72 Jimmy with this, but do not understand the specific listed option. Thanks for now,Tomq

Poutine and Molson? Sorry. I couldn't find an exact description for what this rpo comprised but it's probably an engine block heater, heavy duty battery - features to help the truck run in cold weather.

BTW - I've had the poutine at Au Pied de Cochon in Montreal, food is amazing there

Thank you. I had to ask since my Blazer has the hooks (and it does have a chrome front bumper) and I just assumed they all came that way.

I still have so much to learn...!

Deadhead;big 10-4 on the food and drink, probably a leading factor to my blocked arteries, why do all fun things have a downfall? In 1972 I thought these items were just normal, and the Canadian Base option was an every-day consideration when purchasing a vehicle north of the 49th!! Thanks for info, have a cool one on me;Tomq

1970 Blazer invoice listing shoulder belts!! Sadly no longer present and the SPID pic is too tiny to decipher. This K5 is presently listed for sale on eBay.

Just now noticed the skid plates on my CST K5 are listed on my spid. I never noticed it before I started digging around because I found a skid plate in the back of a 71 Cst K5 I just got, it's not like the factory t case plates. anybody ever seen one like this? it's a MBI

It is different than all the others that came from the factory. it's just sitting now and I won't be using it. it may be an aftermarket not sure.

This is probably one of the most illegible Spid's i have seen in awhile. So far, i have been able to figure out the majority of the items listed on it.

AS3 - Rear Seat Equipment
F76 - Front Wheel Lock Hub
U29 - Courtesy Light
T53?? - Ammeter - Oil Gauge ??
507 - Light Blue
AN3 - Auxiliary Front Seat
CB8 - Removable Hard Top
M?? - ??
V38 - Painted Rear Bumper
Z58 - Auxiliary Top - White
4606HD?? - Blue ??

Is it normal for the spid to list the removable hard top twice? (CB8 & Z58) If anyone can help me decipher the things i have been unable to figure out yet, that would be great!

Re: Blazer SPID thread?

The 4m part looks like it says turbo so I’m guessing it is turbo hydro trans. 4606hd looks to be blue vinyl seats. Ammeter oil guage. That is a tough spid.

Didn’t know that. Cool. Wish they would have kept it that on blazers.
