These are from a 1964 Lambrecht truck. Hope they help.

Thanks for those Lambrecht engine shots, Jon. I'm curious to know what you have been able to learn having been there and taken the time to get those pics. No doubt you were well educated even before going, but did you come away with any (or many) questions answered? I know Mark (Hotfun) was there grabbing reference material as well, so between you two, we must have ALL the answers, right? Lol.
I can spend a lot of time just on one photo looking for the details that normally go unnoticed. Very interesting.
Do you know if anyone grabbed shots of ALL the ID tags, inspection stickers, ink stamps, decals, etc. associated with the engine compartment?

I learned quite a bit Bruce. Gas caps, mirrors wheels. How these trucks were delivered without the floor mats installed. Correct day one spark plugs, oil filters , exhaust. How they were painted underneath , almost looks like the chassis was painted black AFTER it was assembled underneath. Have evidence of this with exhaust systems painted black .

Also correct lables for air cleaners, up through 1963 they were ink stamped. In 1964 the air cleaners changed physically a little and had paper decals placed on them. in these pictures , the smaller air cleaners , notice the 1963 lid is flatter and has a stenciled label and different style filter with a sponge like filter over the air filter , the 64 has a raised lid and regular element. The larger air cleaner is not from a Lambrecht truck but is a 1963 air cleaner. The two smaller air cleaners are both from Lambecht trucks. Also notice the bottom of each lid has a brown fiber mesh , for lack of a better term, on each.

Somewhere I have pictures of a hang tag placed on the floor shifter handle that were on a few. Underside details were a bit tough as these were pretty close to the ground, many on flat tires.

Heres the hang tag on the shifter , tag was pretty dull. Also , in the glove box of many were the factory license plate bolts and nuts for front and rear in little envelopes.

I don't believe so , of my three 65s all are same as the 1964. Heres from two of them, one V8 and one Six , both identical. The V8 is the 8700 mile K20.

Wondering now if your core support is from a GMC ? I looked at my 66 GMC , horn relay is on driver side inner fender and I don't see the holes in the core support for a voltage regulator. GMCs Voltage regulator is on passenger side inner fender.

There is actually 3 holes, I guess the reg would have to be nut and bolted.

Crap. That white stuff on the floor is stock?! When I took my mat out, I thought that was hardware store stuff that a PO put in there. Tossed it. Oops.

Any idea what that hang tag says? My 66 Ford F100 has a similar hang tag... still hanging!

here are a couple factory shots of a group of '60 gmc engines, and a '62 gmc engine.

notice on both that the exhaust manifolds are on the motor before paint. also notice how the 62 gmc motor looked to be almost fully assembled before paint with the overspray on the fuel pump and water pump hose clamps and hose.

I know on Corvettes of the same era black paint was applied with a hand mitt to certain items like shocks and exhaust pipes and mufflers. Often only the surfaces that were easily reached or visible from the outside got the blacked out. I wonder if the trucks got the same treatment?

Great pictures Jon. These two pictures confirm what your saying. These are from a very low mile 62 GMC that was on Ebay a few months back. Still has the orange on the manifolds. Very similar painting technique as the 1959 Impala from Lambrecht.

I pulled this clutch return spring off of a 66, it sort of cleaned up and showed a neat mint green that it was painted.
(the little mount on the front is off a 63, and I am wondering if it is 63 only? the spring that was with the mount was a little different than this one, it had a short front and the coils started right away, I am thinking they did away with this mount, and changed the spring a bit so the coils wouldn't hit the frame?)

also I had to replace an axle seal on the 65 and redid the rear brakes, the axle grease preserved the colors on the brake springs on this side: the 2 upper are gray, the adjuster is white, the little one red, the lower spring mint green, and the e-brake spreader spring is light blue.

1966 frame markings

This was found on the last brace at the rear of the frame so it was hard to see. It's also upside down but it reads C1434 in white crayon or grease pencil.

The interior medium fawn was painted over the red oxide primer. Then the exterior color was applied over both the primer and the fawn overspray.Mine is an old barn truck that has seen better days have a look at the color layers.

You can see again that the red primer can be seen on the back of the cab by the sail panel. Below the rear window again you can see the medium fawn under the black paint...:chevy:

The exterior color stops at the door weatherstrip on the cab... all the way around. The ivory strip on the door panel is part of the Z62 option the custom comfort and convenience (the arm rest is original). Not a good picture but the wing window frame has a pretty nice gloss black on it. When I pulled the wing out the other day the spring was also a gloss black on the assembly. :chevy:

So they hung and aligned the doors on the bare cabs, sprayed the interior (including door jambs), then closed the doors, masked the windows and sprayed the exterior of the cab? This would have had to be without the fenders and cowl extensions in place.
That's the only way I can see it working.

This is interesting to me: Deluxe cab treatment, with arm rests, chrome knobs, and colored inserts on the door panels... but a standard steering wheel.

Did they have the Deluxe steering wheel in '60? ('60, as evidenced by the script on the dash)

(well darn... I don't know how to quote pics from someone else's post. This is in reference to the junkyard truck back on the 3rd page, post 55.)

For the knee-knockers, was the Custom Cab option available WITHOUT the side trim on the body?
Question two: Was two-tone roof available without the Custom chrome sail panels?

I know they changed where the paint divide was from '60-'63; does anybody have pics or factory reference material showing the Two Tone Paint combinations for all four years?

all while the truck is moving... Damn I feel inadequate!

If your truck is a '65 the motor is a 230 and that's probably the correct color. The 250 (first year '66) was the alpine green
