Radiator

Does anyone make a radiator for a v8 in a 48 gmc truck?

Re: Radiator

Looks like Champion makes a three-row and a four-row:

Re: Radiator

Stock-style radiators have plenty of reserve cooling power for a V8.

3 Attachment(s)
I ran a big truck radiator in my 48 3100 that the radiator shop put a bigger upper neck on for years until the core gave out. Old cores are old cores and finding one that is in good enough to use is a challenge now that they are over 65 years old.

OOPS, THIS ISN'T GOING TO WORK IN A GMC WITH A GMC CORE SUPPORT. You need a radiator with the filler neck curving into the back side.
Brice Thomas will custom make a US made radiator but they aren't cheap https://cgj.com/

Looking at the champion that Chopped53 posted that may be your best option. I did put an inquire into Engineered cooling products to see if they can do one for a GMC.

I have one for my truck from Engineered cooling products

I had it out of the box yesterday to take some photos to show someone on another board what the companies's work looks like. Painted black it would look like a stock radiator outside of the tig welding if that was the look you wanted rather than the aluminum.

This is a USRadiator for a GMC truck. This one was configured for hose sizes and locations for an LS V8. Has provisions for a steam port hose too. This one has a fiberglass shroud and a big SPAL fan installed

Here's the other side with the condenser and drier installed.

Oh, and if you plan on using the Vintage Air kit for the AD truck on a GMC, it won't fit.

You'll have to remake all the mounting brackets for the GMC - it only fits the Chevy

Is that the condenser mount brackets? As he has a V8 he just needs compressor mount brackets for that particular V8 and six cylinder brackets aren't an issue. The inside unit should mount the same.

Re: Radiator

Yes, I was speaking in the context of the condenser brackets that Vintage Air says fits the Chevy and the GMC, but in fact the condenser-drier kit will only fit the Chevy. The brackets in the picture had to be remade to get it to fit my GMC
