Re: crew cab and four door guy HELP!!!!!!!!!

That's pretty much the same thing I am doing, but I am using the burb 4x4 frame, modifying it to fit crew cab and short bed, and using most of the drivetrain parts from a 89' FI 454 1 ton 4x4. Looks like you got the parts to do, just need to start. There's really only 2 builds to watch on this: Project Penicillen and Hart_Rod's crew cab build. The rest is your imagination. Trevor

I'm not sure what your specific question is, but I'll make 2 comments. First, you need to use the rounded door frames on the 3rd door (ie use the rear cab section from the truck). Second, in my opinion, you need to cut the 1" extra roof line out of the burb and use a "smooth" roof like the truck. If you have any more specific questions, take a look at my crewcab thread and then let me know. Good luck.

Well on ours we kept the square 3rd door and i feel like it looks legit! A problem that we ran into was in the roof line being different so we had to graft in a little "spoiler" to make up for the difference! ill try and find some pics and post them.

You'll have to cut the front burb roof off and reskin it with a piece from the rear.

My wheel base is 148". It all depends on how you set it up. What I would suggest to you is finish the rear cab section prior to building your chassis. Then mock up the bed and see where that puts you.

I didn't build it, I bought it a couple of years ago (story in my build link below). The crew was built from a truck not a suburban. Whoever built it basically cut a truck cab in half and then added 33" in the center. Everything was fabbed, including both rear doors.

Read through this build and it will give you plenty of info on the 4th door mod (along with the post and info that Rob linked above) and 1 way to get rid of the high roof crown.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=306237 I will answer questions for you after you read the build thread and yes their will be a test

But first get the cab back in place and squared up before even thinking about cutting into the 4th door.

72 burbanbuilder, what you are attempting here is certainly not a "beginner" project not knowing your skill level let me just say I've been buildin, bendin, weldin, an hammerin since 1968 and I am amazed at these fellas abilities I would certainly follow along with what they have accomplished for sure. I witnessed a 4th door conversion by a member over in Meridian (Boise) and there is a ton of work involved he has over 80 hours alone just in rough in meaning its all welded up door swings and latches but he still has all the finish work to go so it could easily be close to 100 hours just for a 4th door and this is and accomplished builder BTW. Wishing you luck and go for it! Its a learning experience all the way and Im sure most of these guys will agree ya learn sumthin every day! If ya pay attention.
