Nice 72 K20 Cheyenne Custom Camper with cab lights (sha-wing, that's a GREAT combo) on ebay. Has had the lower white added in the repaint to emulate a 69-70 deluxe two tone and has Super emblems added (although seller advertises it correctly as a Cheyenne). Gonna sit back and watch this one soar out of my price range in no time. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Chevrol...JZJe3-&vxp=mtr

Ha, yeah, I expect you to be high bidder until 30 sec prior to the bid closing, then it will sail north of the 20th parallel I bet...

I'm skeptical of the mileage claim and why do people put different intakes and holley or edelbrock carbs on these trucks ?? not bashing the truck it's super nice , just leave the flat black spray bomb alone lol

I agree on all points. It seems like all of these "original" mileage trucks have this done. Why not try to preserve it as close to as it came from the factory?

I rarely comment on these ads. It looks like a nice truck, but...
- When someone claims original mileage on a vehicle that tops out at 99,999.9, I'd expect proof. In a case like this I'd demand proof.
- I also noticed it has a factory dual exhaust. Hmmm... I didn't think any of the 350 trucks came from the factory with dual exhaust. Am I wrong?

What am I to believe?

Re: Post Your Craigslist Finds

Well, I didn't really want to go too far down this road either, but since I'll be in august company... concur, there are quite a few things on this truck that, as nice as it is, annoyed the crap out of me. On one of this caliber, while I can live with a radio swap, I'm disappointed in a dangling headliner. I never believe mileage claims, unless it's so painfully obvious and documented (or Joe's!). The red paint restoration photos sure look a lot like post-wet sanding a fresh paint job to me. Claim is that only the white is new paint. Ok, I tried to resist. But agree with all that piled onto Ken. Many small annoying issues - but SPIDS don't lie (in this case at least), it's still a K20 Custom Camper with cab lights (you had me at Custom Camper.... ha) and that is what caught my attn - I barely even read the ads anymore or believe them when I do, I just look at the pictures and make my own assessment. If I read the ad copy, it's usually just to judge how honest (or knowledgeable) the seller is based on the assessment I've made from the pictures. Oh, and it is awesome looking.

I agree if you are going to claim that low mileage, you better have a paper trail to back it up.

My truck shows 68,000 miles  Yeah sure.

That being said, I'd take that truck in a heartbeat.

I know this is Craigslist thread but found this truck "selling with no reserve" on EBay and think its a great deal for someone. How many times do you see folks that have paid good money for lets say trucks that need lots because they want to get into the hobby and are somewhat impatient thinking they'll never find a better truck and the selller says "just needs a little work to be perfect" or " the A/C needs recharging when you'd think anyone asking asking 10k for a truck would spend 100.00 to get the A/C recharged before advertising" or the famous "just needs an A/C compressor". Anyway enough of my ranting and to the point . I feel this truck would be a great truck for anyone wanting to get into the hobby or even a seasoned enthusiast looking for a truck. If I was looking I'd be seriously looking at this one. It'd be great truck to enjoy as it is or do some enhancements, front disc brakes perhaps, as you go. I also think you are dealing with an up front honest seller. The auction closed on EBay and it sold for 7007.00 which is a great deal on this truck

it's all relative, these would easily pass for each other's mileage..

most recent pics of 1965 bought new by dad and 2002 bought new by me;

Agreed!
This one was bid to $8100 last time and, as stated in the listing, the winning bidder apparently backed out.

I just checked and its at 14,600.00 with 6 days to go on the auction. Private Bidding so yiou cant see who is or how many times and individual has bid. THis private bidding thing makes the hair on my neck stand up as it's ripe for shill bidding.

Any bidding makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up for shill bidders, ha. Well, the real tell is when it sells or doesn't and then is suddenly re-listed. I doubt that it's always the case that someone just happened to back out of the deal.

Without seeing the truck in person I really don't see anything that shows this truck to be anything other than what the owner claims it to be. Back in the day intakes and carbs got changed before these trucks became so collectible. I'm sure the original exhaust system rotted out a long time ago and Dual exhaust was and still is something many guys like to add. My point is most guys here know what to look for to determine whether a truck is low mileage or not and one of the biggest things is that it must be seen in person.. Most guys that see my 100% original paint Longhorn call me a liar when I tell them its the original paint. If they knew anything about repaints or how these trucks were painted originally they would know... I don't mean to single you out in any way, this was just the easiest way for me to jump in on the conversation..

I know it would be unusual since it's a Cheyenne, but could this be a former fire truck? Could explain the mileage claim. The bumper & winch made me wonder if it was
