Gas tank relocation ( fleetside )

Hello all

I have been viewing thread(s) on here for some time now

Seen some great idea(s) but something still feels like its missing . . .

Looking to relocate my tank to the rear but dont want it to not show past the rear bumper

Also see some modifications at where the tank was installed almost by the back of the cab underneath and by the trailing arm support using a 65/ 66 mustang tank .

Does any one have any insight or foto(s) of current or past mods that were done in relocating the tank ?

I too wanted a rear tank that didn't show....so I started this thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=621177 and I found it.

Noticed as well , interchanging jeep components is being used a bit on these older model c10(s) . . .

Used the side fill. Had to run rubber vent tubing up & over the wheel well on both sides to be able to vent when filling at the gas station.

Boyd Welding is what I used. Unless you on your knees you dont see it. I also got it black powder coated.

Bigmoe, 66shortbed, can you show how you plumbed your gas tank. Assume they are both side fill tanks?

Using a Rick's VaporWorx tank on my 66 fleetside. I did a bed fill for my swap.

Do you have to modify the frame for the side fill on that tank?

The Tanks Inc. tank I referenced has two optional fill locations, one on top and one on the upper side. My truck is away in storage for the winter so I can't get pics but I have a picture I save of the guy who I copied with the exception that I used a metal elbow where it goes up through the floor. I had to make a hole in the frame to route the hose.

Found a picture of my tank installed. Tanks Inc. USPT-GH. (the vent was moved higher within the fender once the box was installed.)

You ran the fill tube thru the frame?
