Re: Rockwell t221
Only way i would put another one back is if you want your truck 100% stock. If not i would use a np205 or even a np203.

Shifters are in a different location. Rockwell T-221 is on the drivers side of the high hump. Cross member is different. Drive shafts are different.

Re: Rockwell t221
whats wrong with it?
|
Re: Rockwell t221
Well evidently it had a crack in it when I bought it and the PO neglected to tell me about it.... Got it here and used it in the snow.... After a day it popped out of 4wd.. Crawled under it and it has a nasty crack in it.... I don't think I can weld it where it cracked.... Soooo... Hence looking fear a replacement

Re: Rockwell t221
Crack in the t case or the adaptor? I have seen the adaptor for sale on this site. I will run my T-221 also, there are a few of us left. Detents may need tbe looked at also. Bruce

Re: Rockwell t221
I assume yours is married? not the divorced T221 correct.

Re: Rockwell t221
It is divorced

Re: Rockwell t221
There are a few on ebay i have seen recently. not mine. But I have seen them in the past. Shipping would be a nightmare. But its dependent on how bad you want it. Best of luck. I just finished repairing mine. Everyone says to change to an np205. I still like the t221. May have a bit more gear noise. But it's a truck. :)

Re: Rockwell t221
I would recommend retrofitting a divorced np205 from a dodge. You can find these without too much trouble. Should be fairly straight forward to make some brackets to mount in place of the t221. Front driveshaft shoukd be the same and I bet that the rear driveshaft could be reused as well even though the output is high on the np205 versus low on the t221.

Re: Rockwell t221
I'm with argonaut a np205 would be better in the long run you can get parts for it anywhere if you need them. The rockwell parts are like rooster teeth.

Re: Rockwell t221
searchtempest is the bestsearch engine. I just picked a NOS T221 bearing seal kit out of MN, because of searchtempest. Bruce
