I know alot about these cracks and to be honest not as bad as you may think. My buddy and I race inline sixes and one of our race engines has the same crack in the same location and area. Bummer but we were able to fix ours. Looks like your having fun.

Definitely enjoying myself with this build. I might keep the old engine and rebuild it i like to have a backup motor and I think it would be a good candidate. Just so many mixed opinions on whether to fix it or not form everyone that getting the new motor will help me not worry so much.

We ran that six with the crack in it for like three or four seasons. Our motor turns like 6800rpms. So she buzzes for a six. We had to drill it and put a pin in it, like a screw. It held up really well. I think on the street it would be fine, because not as much stress like in a circle track car. Good luck with you new engine.

Also got some work brake work done and buttoned up the exhaust on the 49. The emblem and trunk latch are from a 56 ( I think) chevy custom deluxe I found in the woods along with a sweet 48,49 Plymouth. I will try and get pics of those two up later

Ain't that the truth but it's almost half worth it to still grab it just to get it out of there, but it also makes you wonder why it's there you know?
