WTB bedside tool box door
3 Attachment(s)
Want to buy bedside tool and storage Box door to replace my missing one. I know most of them out there are rusty, I don't mind doing repairs. If any body has one in medium red and white that would be magic. I have 2 of the fiberglass inserts that are in good shape and would be willing to trade one towards a tool box door
Thanks for looking |

I have a few. None in your color though, unfortunately. I'll get some pics. They require varying degrees of repair.

Re: WTB bedside tool box door
You will most likely want to talk with Randall at RTech Fabrications. He is manufacturing the bottom strip that your has been cut out.
I have a door with lots of rust I have started to separate for repairs. Lets here from some other members before I say you will like this one. |

Re: WTB bedside tool box door
You can make that lip by cutting up a rocker panel. I’ll get pics tomorrow.

I have two doors I would sell. They both need work. No hardware is included...just the door.
I would like $35 plus shipping for the green one. It has rust and bends. The ochre one appears to have rubbed against something across the top of the door, and then it also has the typical bow above the handle from pulling too hard trying to open the door. The handle is also bent. I would like $160 plus shipping for the ochre one. |

Here is how I did mine for my K20. The door was a rusty one cut up, and I bought an aftermarket lower bed patch panel for the curvature, I then cut it down to sized and welded the handle into it. The backside of my door was in great shape, So all I did was cut a thin piece of metal to act as the lip that is folded around and welded it to my outer skin. I remade the bed flange by using a cut down rocker panel.

Re: WTB bedside tool box door
That’s really nice work Trevor! I never would have thought to cut down a bed patch to make the skin. not to hijack this thread but do you have any more pictures of what you did to the rocker to make it work with bottom of the bed? I’ve got a pristine original door but the lower panel below the door is rusted out along with the welded in reinforcement that goes along the inside of the lower panel.

I have what you need. I'll have to dig them out, but I have the bedside cutout, as well as a nice solid door. I will post some pics when I get them out.

Re: WTB bedside tool box door
Sorry. It’s been a while but I got her dug out. The metal work has been mostly done and it’s almost ready to prep. Here are some pics. The door was a copper color with virtually no rust, except for a few spots (they have been repaired) along a few spots in the typical lower face. They’ve been filled and ground down and are ready for a thin layer of filler. The bedside opening is a nice piece with no rust. It still has the black factory primer showing.
Here is a LINK with pictures I posted for you. I’m asking $425 shipped. |
Re: WTB bedside tool box door
All good, I stated that I am not in a hurry. Sending PM. Thank you 70LonghornCST!
