Going off the top of my head. I'm running a 71-72 rear. Back plate to plate is 57in if my poor memory serves correct.

Yea 6 lug. I can't win...

Well...got some bad news boys. The new revised fronts don't fit. Looks like it is the same issue as before, it won't seat all the way down onto the rotor, looks like it is tight at the front of the hub bore like before.

And just to sweeten the deal  the rear 20x10 will require a spacer to fit. I didn't have the tires on but it looks like (judging by sight) about a 1/4 to 1/2" spacer to not rub on the inside of the fender well.

Well, we are dealing with Boss here, what did we expect

What do you suggest on a 20x8.5 up front?

You sure you got the -3 revision? Doesn't sound like it. Do you have a caliper (measuring device, not the brake component) to measure the bore? Please post some pics, including one of the label on the box.

Hey, now. You can't blame them for your failure to consider backspacing before ordering. As I've said before, the purpose of the revision was to correct the front hub fitment issue, not to change the backspacing (which is unchanged and which you should have recognized as an issue before making your purchase). :banghead:

I might be jumping in on this... I will talk to my dad too since he wants a set. I'll get back before the deadline!

Hey brossow,

don't get all pissy on me, I'm not blaming them for the BS, I had expected I might need a spacer on the rear, no biggie.

But I am blaming them for a revised wheel that does not fit. Box said right on it 3AA. There is a picture of the label in a thread I posted this morning. I'll take some pics of the figment issue when I get home, at the tire store right now.

I might get away with a little grinding on the tip of the hub.

Sure looked like you were blaming them. You said, "And just to sweeten the deal the rear 20x10 will require a spacer to fit. [...] Well, we are dealing with Boss here, what did we expect." I don't know how else to interpret that statement other than you blaming Boss. But I've been wrong before. *shrug*

Don't want to argue; just surprised by all the people willing to lay out a LOT of money without even knowing what it is they actually need vs. what they'd be getting. Not specifically including you among them -- just making a general observation.

Here's a direct link to the thread mentioned above if anyone wants to follow along over there. Not a good sign....

@Leviticus
I looked at your thread and the part number on your box is for 20x10 even tho it says its for 20x8.5 on your box. I kinda find that odd....

on the boss website I can even see A 20x8.5 with 5 on 5. what is the correct bolt pattern for a 72?

No, that's correct. The part number for a 20x10 in grey is 3387-2050. His box clearly says 3387-2850.

They don't list it there for some reason. The regional manager I've spoken to about these wheels doesn't know why they're not listed in the spec sheet, because they're definitely available and in their system.

I believe the new hub bore was suppose to be 94.62mm=3.725, right?

Both are about the same height and 295/35/18 is 26 iches tall and 245/40/18 is about 25.75 inches tall. I'm going to run 18's all the way around.

Did you see that somewhere official? That's 1/2" larger than what appears to have been delivered. WTF?

I've posted this info multiple times, but once more won't hurt. The national number for American Eagle Wheels (the company behind Boss and several other brands) is 909-590-8828. To find a local distributor, go here: http://americaneaglewheel.com/distributor.cfm. I encourage people to call, ask questions, demand answers, and report back with your findings. Might help to play dumb and just see what they tell you. Some items of interest include:
  1. What is the hub bore on the revised wheels?
  2. What is the ETA on the 20" chrome wheels?
  3. What specifically was changed with the -3 revision?
  4. Are there any plans for other backspacing options on the 20x10 wheel in order to better fit earlier trucks?

I'm sure there are many other questions as well, but those come immediately to mind.

EDIT: You might also consider asking questions in response to their blog post about the revised wheels. The blog is their PR piece, so if they start seeing a lot of public questions they might be more responsive. Please be courteous if you go this route.

Brent,

Not trying to fight with ya:m3:, I knew the 20x10 was a toss up on fitment, I was the one over in the other Boss thread saying I will see if it fits or not. I'm not just some idiot shelling out cash thinking they will fit, I was willing to take the risk to run the 10"s in the back.

The fronts on the other hand are somewhat frustrating, but I was expecting the old version when I ordered them so I am just truckin on:smoke:

Anyways, I'll let you guys know what I can work out on them, I have some 1/4" spacers for the rear I am going to try to see if they get me clear.

And we will see how much material I am going to have to take off the front hub.

I'll keep you all posted, on a good note, the tires look sweeet on the wheels!

Re: Boss 338 Wheels **GROUP BUY**

Ok, guys,

Here are some pics of the front fitment issue. It looks like it is just hitting the front edge of the hub bore, from what I can tell, nothing behind where it is hitting towards the front of the wheel is an issue.

Its hard to judge how far off the rotor face it is sitting cause the wheels wants to oscillate on the hub but it looks like about a 1/4" or less. I think we are better off than the old version, but not direct fit.

I pulled my Caliper Gauge out to get you numbers on the hub bore but its and electric one and the battery was dead (left it on doh!) I'll get some batteries for it today.

You can see where its hitting in the hub in the pics.
