66 C10 6 Lug Float Disk brake conversion from 90s K1500 pick up
Hello
I'm planing to do a 6 Lug Front disk brake conversion on a 1966 C10. Is it possible to retain the 1966 C10 Hub rotor and wheel bearing. Then replace the drum with a 6 Lug Float Disk brake from 90s K1500 as shown. Bolt circle are the same 6 x 5.5" Hub Reg on the 1990s K1500 Disk brake is slightly small than The Hub Reg on the 1966 C10. Which can be machined to the correct size. Has any body done this similar conversion recently? 1966 C10 Pick up Drum with bolt circle 6 x 5.5" http://www.rockauto.com/info/Pronto/...F_04_16_08.jpg http://www.rockauto.com/info/Centric/123.66000_DRA.jpg 1994 K1500 Pick up http://www.rockauto.com/info/Pronto/...F_04_01_08.jpg http://www.rockauto.com/info/Centric/121.66009_DRA.jpg |

Have not seen that setup tried yet. The 88 and up swap has not been worked out and those who have tried have not had a good time. The 73 to 87 swap is well documented and works well. I have it on both my trucks. The rotors through Summit are not that expensive and it is a proven setup.

Even if you bore the rotor you still need to design a caliper bracket to bolt to the stock spindle and work with the caliper you choose. Wilwood has done this for the camaro drum spindles.

I've used this company before with good luck,
Its not a floater but will get you 6 lugs on your spindles https://scarebird.com/index.php?rout...product_id=150 |
