Here is a truck I recently picked up. Been looking for an orange truck for a while. It has some unusual options.

Here's the one from my '67 yard art. Am I noticing that the glove box door is painted the body color on all but the '67s? The '67s I've paid attention to are gray.

My '72 is listed as Z49 Canadian Base Equipment. Never have had a good answer on what that actually includes. Anyone know?

I had asked in this thread:

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=564210

But know one there knew the answer either. The block heater is ruled out because it has it's own code. The best answer so far was "glove box maple syrup warmer".

I didn't find anything specific to 1972, but in general it includes:

Kilometer speedo
Front license plate provisions (for those vehicle platforms where that is optional)
Unique labels

In modern times this is expanded to include:
Specific daytime running lights
Unique cluster teltales and inflatable restraint teltales
Radio frequencies (no XM)

Block heater availabilty comes and goes depending on the specific program team.

It's mostly just a "country code", to define a geographic region to send an (essentially) US spec vehicle. Like Puerto Rico, or China or Saudi Arabia.

Here is mine. Just drug a '71 C20 home from its resting spot in a pasture. The sticker is still there, just a little worn. Managed to get it decoded.

BX2 A11

F59 F52
G50 F60
K76 G70
M49 N40
P03 TP2
T60 UY1
U63 V46
Z53 Z62

I can't quite read the color code, If anyone knows the code for olive/white, I would like to know. I would like to restore the factory color at some point.

Don't what SE means but I have only seen that box filled in on Oshawa built trucks. Was your truck built in Canada?

Your two tone code for olive/white is 534. 504 medium olive and 521 white. The roof will be white (521) and the rest of the body will be med olive (504)

Question did a 1971 gmc Sierra come with power steering ????

Re: SPID Picture thread?

power steering was not included in the sierra package. It could be ordered as a option on any truck. RPO code N40

Sorry for the crappy pics, it's kind of faded and I took these inside a barn with my camera. It's an all original(but in rough condition) 71 K2500 Custom.

Actually the Z81 Custom Camper was a badge only option. It required specific equipment be ordered on a truck to qualify, but mirror type were not specified on the 67-72 trucks.

From 67-71 it superceeded the the fender series emblem and in 72 they were added door emblems for Chevy trucks.

Your truck was actually built with the short arm DG4 below eyeline tripod style stainless mirrors.

Those camper style mirrors are incorrectly mounted for a 72 and may be later mirrors from a square body.

There are a number of threads on "Custom Campers" and a couple on the the DF2 camper mirrors and their locations, both left and right if you do a thread search.

Finally 519 dark yellow is about my favorite solid color; how about posting an exterior shot of your nicely equipped "Custom/20" "Custom Camper" K20?

To be more correct the 72 DG4 stainless and the D29 painted mirrors used shorter arms than the 71 down mirrors shown in the parts drawing. Here is a 72 DG4 mirror.
