67-72 LS Swap motor mount options
2 Attachment(s)
I am in the process of rebuilding a GM LM7 (5.3L) to put into my 1968 C10. I currently have the 1968 stands (single hole), but no motor mounts. What is the best mounting option? I am considering using 73-87 stands/clamshell mounts/dirty dingo adapters, but am not sure how this affects engine location and height. If you have experience, please share. Thanks!

I used dirty dingo sliders with those same perches! Worked out great! Actually put my manual bellhousing right where the stock bellhousing mounts were.

Re: 67-72 LS Swap motor mount options
I went with the 73+ saddles and dirty dingo mounts. These mounts and saddles set the engine at the correct height and allow you to move it fore or aft as you need to place it exactly where you want it i n the engine bay. If I wasn't greedy and didn't want it as far back as possible, I would not have had a single issue installing the engine but now I am trying to track down a high hump.

The 68 stands will work fine. You just need a small block motor mount like these and adapter plates to get it all mounted. Or, spend some more money and get the 73-87 stands, mounts and adapter plates. Either way, you'll be buying mounts and adapter plates.
