Finally seeing some progress...

5 Attachment(s)
I had been looking for a 67-72 for a long time. Last September I came across a real project. 1967 Chevy SWB Fleet, that the price was right. My fiance, now wife, encouraged me to buy it since it was what I'd been wanting. I figured I'd better do it since I've heard the horror stories of how they change after the wedding bells. I bought the truck for $450 and the fun began. Between wedding plans, and working some crazy hours I've managed to find a little time here and there to work on my truck. I wish I would have started this thread sooner but here's some pictures and I'll try to keep everyone updated.

In the beginning....

Back to the basics... it all starts with the chassis. I converted the rearend to 5 lug with 5" dropped coils. The front was converted to disc brakes using 2 1/2" dropped spindles with 1" dropped springs. As you can tell the whole red/black color scheme has also began.

A long drive from Houston to Florida with my Aunt, I return home with wheels and a nice bed. Pictures are exactly what the bed looked like when I picked it up. I'm going to stick with the same red on the entire truck.

Some are wondering what is going to power the project... I found a motor and a ton of accessories on craigslist. The first picture is the one from craigslist. Fresh rebuild, +0.30 with all you see. I brought it home before they guy changed his mind and added some color. I also added the Dyna-Max headers I found on ebay only $150. I added a comp cam magnum 270 and a noisy gear drive.

It all came with some serpentine pulleys but I picked up the others needed and the brackets at a local salvage yard. After some sand blasting and paint they turned out decent. Oh yeah, it's a turbo 400 tranny.

I finished up the new brake lines. I made the little bracket for the brake hose and ran the rear lines up the driver side of the frame. I'm planning on running soft lines from the frame to the master cylinder. Oh yeah, until my truck is finished here's a pictures of my current mode of transportation when my wife has our Tahoe. You're never too old to ride a bike. Ok, this is my stopping point for tonight.... more pictures to follow soon.
