Just replaced the most used tool in my shop.

After getting fed up with the multi unit stereos in my shop that play cd's cassettes and have a crap radio reciever usually last about a year I went old school. I bought this old Sherwood receiver off E Bay and built a case with a cover that flips down to keep out dust and paint. I have 4 speakers and it sounds great.

Hard to beat the older stuff. Electronics Made In USA. They seem to last forever. My dad had a Technics receiver for almost 30 years. It was used a lot and kept on kicking. It finally died and was replaced with a modern surround sound capable system.

i have to agree with you :D
mine is never turned off

a few years ago my technics receiver died from heat and dust overload
when i replaced it my my old house stereo i included a fan and filter to keep clean cool air in the receiver cabinet

my neighbor listens to country, i'm a rock n roll type; 4 of these assures me he's listening to rock :D

I find myself cranking the volume when I am painting as the doors are closed and I don't offend my neighbor. I run a one man body shop from my home that is in a residential zone I have great neighbors that allow me to but I try to walk softly so to speak. I have been working from home since 2002 so far no complaints.
