Boyds EFI Tank Install Questions

Hoping for some help on the installation of a Boyd's EFI Tank. I have tried searching but have not been able to find the answers. i think I am clear on mounting the tank and running the fuel lines, my questions is on ventilation. The tank comes with one vent (and an optional roll over vent). What do I hook this vent up to? Is it the ventilation line that attaches to the top of the fuel filler neck? I also have the two vent lines from the old tank that hook to the vapor recovery system and up to the charcoal canister. Do I still use this system with a modern EFI setup or do I pull all this out?

In regards to wiring, I am planning on running a 12 gauge hot and ground for the pump up the frame rail to the engine compartment and also another 12 gauge line for the sender. Is that correct?

Thanks for the help!

Re: Boyds EFI Tank Install Questions

I have a Boyd EFI tank, Bought a rollover vent for it, not connected to anything. The original Blazer vent stack was not used. I used a charcoal canister mounted on the drivers side up front, fuel line and return on the passenger side. Pump is in the tank.

Thanks Notsolo! So you did not use the vent line that is part of the filler neck? Also, any insight on the wiring?

I am trying to get some wiring and plumbing lines in place before the tank arrives and this is really helpful. Good to know I do not need to the old vapor recovery stack.

Thanks again!

Don't you need a relay? so no sparks at pump

Yes! Thanks jarros44sr. I have now learned 12v wire from pump+ to relay in the engine compartment, ground from pump- to frame, and single wire from sending unit to gauge.

Still trying to understand how the vent next to the filler tube works...

Thought I would try and get all the wires and tubing run before I re-install the engine and transmission so access is easier.
