Trucks We REGRET Selling

I was replying to another thread about a 9" rear under our trucks and found some old pics of my 66 that was a rust free truck. I paid $1,500 from the original owner. I put a 383 stroker in with sportsmans heads, full roller cam, TCI street fighter 350 tranny, ford 9" with posi and disk brakes, front end converted to 5 lug and disk brakes. This truck was fast and fun to drive. A divorce forced the sale of this truck. Sold on Ebay to a guy in Indiana.

I am breaking the code of the thread. Mine wasn't a truck. It was a 1964 Barracuda 273 with Hurst 4 speed. :whine:

Way to many to count, did so much work on so many that I always thought I would keep, miss some of them, sure glad I still have one though. Happy with my 1 ton Gm.

1962 K10
Did the bodywork on this truck, got it all mechanically perfect, then gave it away to a yard in New York State that I used to pick parts out of. Their son drove it for three years going to college, then they mounted a plow on it to clear their yard and after forgetting to check the oil, seized the engine and subsequently tore it apart for pieces.

My 1965 GMC, was a 100% rust free truck even after it was media blasted, not a pin hole. Guy moved here from Australia made me an offer twice what it was worth so I let it go.

WOW Jon, I see why you regret it, but sometimes offers can't be refused

I'm going against the rules to! lol! I regret selling my 8 foot 1960 fleetside trailer. Bought it for $75 and sold it for $100. Was a perfect 8 ft bed. On the oem frame with a gutted axle and welded on hitch. Regret selling it now cause I just bought a receiver hitch for my truck! lol! :whine:

Thanks,
I've bought many things, but buying this truck twice were my two favorite purchases. :D

T. J. There are no rules here. I should have said things we regret selling. I was just missing my old 66 truck.

My 61 4x4. Built it over a 5 year period from the frame up. Wish I would have kept it!

Re: Trucks We REGRET Selling

I have owned dozens of Chevy trucks ranging from 1955 to 1983, and honestly, I have regretted selling every one of them. Sounds corny, but I love all my trucks, even the beaters.

If I made a list of all the musclecars I've owned and sold, it would make me just as regretful. '69 Camaro Z/28s, 66-67 SS Novas, early GTOs,....:dohh:

what I regret selling now! when I was about 16=17. I owned 2 56 chevys and a 55 chevy hard top. the one 56 was a driver that had a built 302 basically a z28 motor but better. the other 56 was a cherry 2 door post that a friend bought from the original owner and blew up the 6 motor. the 55 hard top was cherry charcoal and salmon which I called pink and grey. power everything even windows. they all sold for around $400-500 a piece. but back in about 1968 they were just old cars.

I regret selling my 66 LB BBW with factory air, the cardboard around the gas tank and the build sheet. Sold it in 98 when we moved out of Fresno, Calif. it had a 350 which I had rebuilt with a 3/4 cam and a Holley 4bbl so I could haul a cab over camper up 180 & 168 to the Sierras. Damn I miss that truck!

Re: Trucks We REGRET Selling

I have an A Code 65 Mustang. I have had it since Nov 1984. Almost sold it a few years ago but couldn't bring myself to do it. It has the factory front disc brakes, 4 speed trans, and 4 barrel carb. I still have it but once again been thinking about selling it. I have not driven it since 1994. It is ready for paint... Kinda... Was thinking about painting it and bringing it back to life. The engine was rebuilt for it back when I got it and I put about 6000 miles on it. It needs posi as it just lights up the wheels when it hits the power band. I think the came is a 490 lift iwth a 288 durantion and and I know it has 10.5.1 compression trw pistions. With spinning tires and not being able to get into the throttle it pulled low 15's in the 1/4. I am sure if I could grip up it would go low 14,s. Who knows...
