That is a very cool little K1500. I have a thing for old forestry trucks and stuff like that. Buddies in a 70? Although has the RPO for buckets, I would have assumed they'd have been standard 69-70 style. They sure look original though. Odd that a forestry truck would even have buckets at all - 69-70 two-seater would limit how many people you could carry with you, and buddies might have helped with that if they were available, but seems an odd option for what are usually bare-bones guvvie vehicles. Very cool truck.

Mine was also a forestry truck from California. It had a cool spotlight that got hit by a falling branch here in Florida. Seems it rains trees around here. Still has the holes (filled on the outer skin) in the headliner for the rotating light. It had 3.73 gears and a 4 speed 307ci. The output of the trans was shot so it went under the knife. It's still no where close to as nice as that one. I do need a new DD. If it had AC I might go for it. I converted mine to stock AC but have never got it working. Next project.

Nice 71 C20 in an interesting color combination. $11500. No SPID so it's hard to tell if it left the dealership with the Green Brown Green combination. Either way it looks nice. Not mine.

Great truck, 5500 miles since resto. Daily driver until showed signs of head gasket going out, not a perfect or show truck. 30k plus put into by the previous owner that did the resto. Needs head gasket. Almost everything in the cab is new

71 GMC K20 sharp looking truck $12200. Not mine. Very well optioned truck. Heavy duty springs, hubs, posi, tilt, CST, Camper equipment, AM/FM, and best of all Floor board. No Flintstone brakes on this one.
But seriously can anyone explain the floor board option?

https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/...137505624.html

1971 GMC, 3/4 ton, 4x4, K20, 350 Motor, 350 Automatic, Power Steering, Power Brakes.
Air Conditioning almost all there, Compressor turns over, belt is gone.
Extra Gas Tanks, Sliding Rear Window, Disc Brakes, Posi Traction Rear End, New Seat, New Carpet, New Door Panels, New Arm Rest, New Door Sill Plates.
99.9% Rust Free Truck. It is 49 years old, so no it’s not perfect, it has a branded title because the right front fender was smashed years ago, it has been replaced. I’m not the original owner. Repaint 20 years ago has flaws. Very decent truck.
$12,200.00 OBO. Please call 503-774-1891

My guess would be to protect from dents. I've done that in the past when I had some large rocks dumped in the bed of a truck... let the wood absorb some of the force.

*Edit: I didn't notice it on the spid at first, and was commenting on the picture with the plywood covering what I thought was the steel floor.

That would be the common wood bed floor E81 option.

That is a nice truck. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say 5 years from now, all of us who read the ad will be kicking ourselves.

Interesting take on a houndstooth cover, goes kinda well with ochre!

mrtoni 06-14-2020 05:33 PM

Had a look at the 70 burb. Straight shooter seller. Family owned a long time before being sold off and rebought. More rust repair than I can do but really could drop a bbc in it and be a cool patina ride. Rust in rockers and rear quarters. Seat covers not original but interior is pretty cool really. Price is fair

My wife thinks they are "cute". Looks like I'll be giving this person a call. I'd love a truck like this to bonk around in.

ETA- one has a title, one does not. I'm waiting for a call back when he has the title to the one that does. Long story short, my wife is now officially PO'd about me buying one. Then don't tell me you think that it's "cute" if you don't want me to buy it. I'm hoping that I can get both titled, and I and one of my sons can drive them around. We shall see.
