My 55 2nd series project

I'm starting this a little later in the build then I had planned, but I guess better late than never. Hopefully some of the things I've done can help others out...
I bought my truck May 2015 about 5 days after selling my 65 Thunderbird (which wasn't for sale) that I had just completed. I really had no specific plan in mind for the truck, but after some research I decided to go balls out.
Feel free to follow along.

Welcome aboard ,I only see 4 out of 10 pics, but looks like a very nice straight starting point.

Re: My 55 2nd series project

My 55 was running/driving with a sbc 400 with a 4 speed manual, it was pretty quick but the stock steering sucked. After driving it around for a couple days I knew it wasn't going to just take a little work to get it where I wanted. First thing was to replace the king pins and tighten up the steering box. The removing and replacing the king pins sucked, but that and the steering box adjustment made driving it a little less dangerous( before that you could turn the steering wheel 45° to each side before it would move the wheels). Within a couple months or so I decided to start ordering parts and tearing the truck down, trying to sell as much of the removed parts as possible...which in turn helped determine what direction the build would go, forcing a commitment because there was no parts to go backwards with.
*having an issue uploading pics to this reply. I will post as soon as the issue is fixed

Nice looking truck! Identical to mine. Mine has a Pontiac 400 and Muncie 4 speed. Stock steering, suspension, and brakes, all refreshed, it drives OK. One thing that really tightened up the steering was a new heavy duty tie rod and ends from CPP. Here is the latest pic I have of it, taken at our RC field in Hemet, Ca. I drive my truck almost every day. Right now is the deer season here in Calif, so that is taking up my time. It will be interesting to watch your progress on your Task Force!
