Help! Manual Required

I have recently been willed a '79 GMC C/K 2500 from my great uncle who passed away. With him being the original owner of the truck, I can't pass up this opportunity to restore this beauty since it is still running well and it only has 86,000 miles on it. Obviously, there is a lot to do with it, but I am having a hard time locating a genuine factory manual original or reprint for this specific make and model. I know this truck is somewhat on the rarer side (at least here in Canada), but shouldn't it be easy to find a manual online? Any help would be much appreciated in locating this book. Thanks!

There’s a possibility Scott has some. He deals in more than just 67-72 trucks.

Another Albertan! Right on. I am assuming you live in Bowser, BC now right? My family is all from Lasqueti Island originally.

I do have some pictures, but not on my phone right now. I will post them soon.

No kidding! It's awesome how small this world can be. Did you retire out there?

Thanks, I will definitely be needing some parts. My Uncle was a typical farmer, which so am I so I can't judge too harshly, but beat the living heck out of the body of this truck hauling bales and timber.

Re: Help! Manual Required

There are actually three manuals
Maintenance/Service manual
Unit Repair
Wiring

Bunches on evilbay. Don't pay more than $30 US each for the service and unit manuals and I wouldn't pay more than a US ten spot for the wiring book fifteen if you just hafta have it or it's in exceptional condition.

If you look in my signature you'll find PDF copies of all three. This is where the copies on Chris's board came from. The real thing is nice to hold in your hands and refer to when you're working on your rig. I use the electronic copies to search for the procedures and stick bookmarks in the paper manual so I can find the sections I need in the barn. Computers and large monitors don't do well in a barn environment.
If you have the paper manual you have fair use to have the PDF for searches etc.
