Add them. You can get a wire with a terminal out of another PCM harness at a junk yard and add them to the TAC plug, then wire them up.

Do I need to wire just the TAC or the PCM also?

Just the TAC, provided your PCM is already wired up, brake light switch input, that sort of thing.

Aren't those levers pretty expensive. IIRC those are the ones LMC sells for $230. I have one that came out of a 1980 Suburban but it is pretty rough. Where did you get yours and where did you get the sheet of labels???

I don't know about LMC, I'll have to check my catalog when I get home. I think they are usually found in '81-82 trucks, but they're usually only a 3 wire switch so you have to change the switch inside of if with a 4 wire. Although I have seen a couple of them with the 4 wire switch already in them.

I had the labels made, if you want one, id sell you one for. $7 shipped.

I will probably take you up on that, let me dig up my old lever and see how many wires it has and if it is usable. Thanks!

I have a toggle switch that provides 12+ to terminal A to turn the unit on/off.
I have a momentary push button that provides 12+ to terminal B when pushed to set cruise. If i hold the button in it will coast until i release the button. Terminal C i remove, everything else is the same as posted.

I will probably end up with a Summit Racing aftermarket column.... for now I have the factory NON-tilt auto column shift.... So I need the one with the hole for the screw....

What did these come out of again.... 3 or 4 wire doesn't matter...

I found my lever and it is a 3 wire not to mention its in pretty bad shape. I'm going to hold off on getting a sticker from you until I can find a 4 wire setup or at least a nicer 3 wire to convert. I might even get a new one, who know.

How bad is it? I might be able to fix it, I've fixed some pretty nasty looking ones. Or if you get a new one and the old one isn't all that bad, I might be interested in it.

Hey guys my cruise lever has 4 wires at the connecter Red, Brown, Green, Yelow. Pretty sure it is from Van tilt column.
I need help making the conections to my '99 Silverado cruise module.
I have transplanted the '99 5.3 / 4l60e, fuse block, and instrument cluster.

Re: LS factory cruise control hook up

That's a switch from an aftermarket cruise control. They are usually normally closed switches and you will need to use relays to reverse them. Ackattack's thread that I have linked in my first post has instructions on how to do it. As for what wires to use for each function, you'll just have to test them to find out. You can do it with a DVM or a test light and a battery.

I got mine wired up _ but it is not working. Mine is DBW, does it need to see speedo input to work.

ls1nova71 05-10-2012 03:21 PM

Re: LS factory cruise control hook up

It has to have a VSS signal if that's what you're asking. You don't need an actual speedometer hooked up. Do you have both brake switch inputs hooked up? And do you have brake lights? It needs to see ground through them.

Pic for farmtrucks. This is a factory pigtail for the cruise switch. The gray wire is the on/off and goes to pin 14 on the TAC. Green is resume/accel and goes to pin 5. Blue is set/coast and goes to pin 4. Pink is the ignition power to the switch.

Re: LS factory cruise control hook up

I have a 2005 LS2 with E40 computer DBW. Cruise does not work.

I think the problem is that the cruise is interlocked with the e-brake. The ECM has to see that the e-brake is off for the cruise to engage. (I know this is true on my 08 LS3). Problem is that the BCM reads the e-brake switch and puts the message on the low speed serial bus which the ECM reads.

(The same problem occurs for the case learn procedure. The TECH II has to see that the e-brake is on in this case for it to run the procedure.)

I am in the process of trying to get a BCM wired up with a toggle switch for the e-brake. No success yet.

Has anyone gotten cruise to work with DBW???

Would 1 of these type cruise levers work with 01 6.0 DBW and cruise module? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-72-CADI...5e7c01&vxp=mtr

It only has 3 wires, black, blue, and brown.

It might, but you would only be able to set it, you wouldn't have an on/off or accel/resume.
If you want one of the ones I have pictured I have a few I would sell.

Ok. Thanks. I would be happy just pushing the button and the cruise would be set. I don't need the fancy on/off or accel/resume.
