Generations

I'm hoping someone can help me identify what the years are for 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation S10 pickups and Blazers.
Thanks in advance!
Ray

Re: Generations

Pick ups

1st gen 82-93
2nd gen 94-04

Blazers

1st gen 83-94
2nd gen 94-04

There wasn't a third gen, the s10 was replaced by the Colorado and the blazer was replaced by the Trailblazer.

Re: Generations

95 S Trucker is correct.

Also, 94-97 and 98+ have some differences (in both appearance and OBD 1/2) but were not seperate generations.

Thanks! I always thought there were 2 generations separated in the mid 90's. Now I know.

They did do a face lift midway in both body styles.82-86 was one way 87 got the face lift new dash and new grill tell 93,And again in the next body style 94-97 and the face lift in 98 changed the grill and interior.

The interior changed in 86

The grill didn't change until 91 on the first gens. And there was a specific grill for 91 and 92, then a different one for 93 (and 94 for the blazers)

Re: Generations

If you really want to split hairs, the 98+ 2wd blazers had totally different spindles & bearings and brakes in the front.

All of this is really just subtle styling and natural evolution though, like was said before there's just 2 generations of S-series. 82-93, 94-04 pickups and 83-94, 95-04 Blazers.
