More pictures of my new '67 C20
True to his word, the guy I bought it from delivered it to me last night. It's certainly not without it's problems, but I'm pretty happy with it.
First the bad. The cab floor and bed wood is shot: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psiqpzbvog.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pscimbrrtg.jpg But the rockers have been changed already, and he gave me a floor pan kit that he had bought: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pswc17mqlv.jpg The driver's side cab corner looks solid, but the right side will need replaced, along with the cab support. Didn't get a picture of that, I guess. Now the good. Straight and mostly rust-free: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pskavwzsak.jpg Looks like a little bondo at the back of the bedside: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psf9gs43zj.jpg Not sure if it's correct, but it has a tow hook on the passenger side: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pszuwbh5cd.jpg Brand new aluminum radiator: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pspy4vztho.jpg More to come... |
Re: More pictures of my new '67 C20
...More. This is supposed to be a 327. I haven't ran the numbers yet, but it looks like it certainly could be. The stamped numbers are V0920YH:
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psx0sull6y.jpg Still has the restraint cables for a broken motor mount: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pspcppdmle.jpg Both sides: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psji6sokgl.jpg Not sure what kind of carb this is. Rochester, I suppose. The number on the rebuild tag is 7027125. It's allegedly the only thing keeping the engine from running. I have a good 4Bbl here to swap on and see: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psv0uvdlwl.jpg I need to find out what rear end this is, too: http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...psfehot7bm.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y55...pslmhgrn7q.jpg Anyway, that's pretty much it. I don't have the time or money to do anything with it this year, but long range plans are to make it safe and sound and maybe use it for either a camper (since it's a camper special) or pull a trailer. Probably dump the V8 for a six, because I like them better. Maybe some kind of O-drive. We'll just have to see what happens. |

Re: More pictures of my new '67 C20
As near as I can tell, it has the original engine. At least the YH on the stamped numbers means it's a '67 327. The carb I didn't recognize is a Rochester 4G (4 jet). The PO, who seemed to know his stuff, said that it must have been early in the production run because these carbs were leftovers from '66. I don't know if that's true, but it's a Janesville truck and the VIN would indicate that it was number 4977 off the line. The SPID is missing, so it's no help. I gave a cursory look for the build sheet, but I didn't see it anywhere. I'll have to pull the seat out and see if it's hiding somewhere.

That's a good truck. Probably a TH400 and the HO52 is probably 4.10. Is it a Custom model? I spy the fancy door panel

Re: More pictures of my new '67 C20
Very nice truck! well worth some time and money!!! Enjoy. FYI if you go to replace the 4-jet with another carb, beware the 4-jets are straight bore the intake will not accept a spread bore carb. without using an adapter !!

Re: More pictures of my new '67 C20
The 4 jet is a small carb , I think 500 cfm , I have a 65 327 that has the same carb
from the looks of your bed sides there were hooks at one time on the side , aka camper special |
