Thanks, I constantly try to remind myself to be patient and that some day it will be all worth it.

Thanks, I'm still plugging away at her, finding more rust has been a setback but it gives me the opportunity to fix it the right way, or at least this is what I'm telling myself.

Hey Keith hows it going, did you get any repair work done on the back of the cab this weekend?

Yeah I managed to cut out the rust and make up the filler pieces. Now I just need to get my brother over here to weld them in. I also fixed a few areas on the back of the cab where I didn't like the bodywork, dam perfectionist in me  I also bodyworked the front window channel from the previous rust repairs we did there. Had some surface rust to deal with before sealing it up with epoxy and smoothing it out with filler.

I cut out two other areas on the inside of the cab on the top of the back wall by the interior light that needed some work as well. It's not something I wanted to do but it needed to be done. I'm just hoping that is it for the patch work.

Thanks guys, progress will continue but my attitude now is it will get done when it gets done. My father and I came up with a plan to turn my garage into a paint booth when the winter hits because with this setback on the cab, their is no way I will have the bodywork and paint done before it gets cold here. We are basically going to build a temporary booth out of 2x4's and plastic and wall off the garage from the floor to the ceiling. This way my toolbox, compressor, bench and most importantly the washer and dryer don't get dust or overspray on them. But it would allow me to be able to heat up the garage to spraying temperature that I wouldn't be able to do in the tent. Plus have better lighting.

Sounds like a good plan for the garage!

Keith I would hazard a guess and say that there is probably tons of other work that you can complete while waiting for your brother to come over and weld in new metal so don't let that stop you from doing the other things that need to be done.
Unforeseen issues aren't the end of the world in fact they are par for the course when working on a 46 year old truck, you should expect them and you shouldn't let it bother you, simply fix it and move on to the next issue like you have been doing for years during the restoration.
You have done an amazing job and now you are a few steps from the finish line, finish strong brother!

Haven't worked on it in weeks, so no progress. Your right it's a beautiful weekend hear to paint but unfortunately I'm no where near painting anything. I do plan on working on it tomorrow, just having a hard time keeping interest at this point between numerous setbacks and the realization of what still needs to be done :waah:

Keith I am defiantly feeling you with your slow down in progress. I'm at the same point. Things definitely slowed when the kids went back to school and now the weather is gonna start cooling off. I really need a better furnace in my garage if I'm gonna do anything on it this winter.

Thanks Jason, it felt good to work on it today so I think I'm over the hump.

Yeah the winter sucks for progress. I have two small area heaters I use. They do a pretty good job of heating up the garage but I only have a 24'x24' space to heat. I'm probably going to pick up another area heater this winter.

Got back at it today, spent most of the day sanding old paint and primer from the cab. I finished the bodywork on the firewall as I had one little section I didn't get done when I initially did the firewall.

I also mounted my custom emblems on the doors, what's another couple holes per door
