I picked the Suburban up for him in San Angelo, TX last summer. He started on it recently.

In the last pic, it looks like my grandson is getting ready to go to work.

He comes out and "helps" me after school.

Great pictures. Use to help my dad work on cars when I was that age. Fun times!

Love that color. Looks like he has a good start on that project, complete with a new dual exhaust already installed.

That looks like a really solid burb. What are his plans for it? Nothing wrong with the little guy helping. Set the bug young.

It still had the original exhaust on it, so he took it to the muffler shop before he pulled the engine.

The chassis is completely dissembled now, and he has all the small parts blasted. He is planning to blast the frame this Saturday.

His 4/6 drop kit arrived yesterday.

It will sport a carbureted 454 with 700R4 and 373 gears.

A couple of you saw his 72 Blazer at Des Moines Goodguys. His family has outgrown it.

He won't well the Blazer until he gets the Suburban on the road.

The SIL got his CPP lowering kit, his chassis blasted and painted, and started reassembly, and his control arms have 3/4 ton ball joints.

Does anybody know what's up with this?

I have searched the GM parts book, and there is only one control unit listed for a 1/2 ton Suburban, and it is the same for a 1/2 ton pickup.

My green Burb has 3/4 ton ball joints as it was a 3/4 ton. Maybe yours is too?

Nope, it's a half ton. I'm puzzled.
