'66 12v swap question
hey guys, I'm building a '66 SWB stepper, I'm going to Z the frame, notch the back, box the whole frame and put my 1990 12v in it. my question is
do the oil pans on the 12v's hang lower than the K member? if so how much? i would mock it up and see for myself but my 12v is buried in my back shed till the snow is gone. thanks in advance jimbo |
Re: '66 12v swap question
Jimbo, I've only done 1 2wd 67-72 so I don't have a lot of info. Usually the bottom of the pan is even or just above the bottom of the cross member. You can always cut the pan and modify it and the oil pick up tube. I've done that several times. Or you can place the engine up higher in the frame but that might require floor board reworking.

Sounds like a cool project to me! Start a thread on here when you do. I'd like to follow along!
