re webbing seat belts

I have a set of carmine seat belts for my 78 and I need them to be black. Dying them doesn't seem to be an option. Does anyone replace the webbing anymore? I know at one time Snake Oil did but not sure they still do. Thanks

SnakeOyls is the only place I know of. You can do a Goggle search, that may find another place or so. Your best bet is to find a set of black belts. I have a few sets, but they need cleaned and restored.

Re: re webbing seat belts

I went to a local upholstery shop to get mine done. They said they don't do it but had a local parachute guy near the airport that does them. Very expensive at $300 but worth the safety.

Re: re webbing seat belts

can someone confirm if 1978 seat belts lock up on impact. I just installed mine and the shoulder belt doesn't seem to lock up when you yank on it BUT the lap belt does. Is this correct or are my belts not functioning correctly? thanks

These belts don’t have ALR, only ELR. With ELR, they will lock with the rapid deceleration, or slamming on the brakes. So sitting in the truck and yanking on the belt will do nothing, that function only works on the newer belts with ALR.
And the lap belt is just bolted to the floor of the cab, it doesn’t have any quote functions, other than strapping the center occupant to the seat.
