1966 Stock V8 perch location.

Just a simple question. Are the factory V8 perches in the same location as the perches for a 6 cylinder? Excluding 292... I bought a set of mounts and perches for a sbc for 1963 to 1972 from cpp and they moved my engine forward in the stock location. I had to use my original perches and mounts from my 327 to install my 283. My truck was a 6 cylinder originally but every other truck I've looked at had the perches in the same location. The mounts are supposed to be for sbc.

Thanks

In the '63-'66 trucks, the 230/250 I6's and the small blocks all mount in the rear location. The '67-'72 trucks had the small blocks moved forward and the 230/250 I6's in the rear location.

Thanks Captain... i guess cpp didn't know that and I assumed (which I know what happens) that they were selling something that would fit. They don't take returns but I think it's their mistake... Thanks again.

A lot of the people that sell parts don't really know the '60-'66's. They just assume they are exactly the same as the '67-'72's. So they advertise a part as fitting '60-'72, and people still buy them and don't say anything since they are a big company and they must know what is right.
