Inside spare tire carrier

Found a 73 for sale for parts. There was a picture of the inside spare tire carrier that looks an awful lot like the 69 to 72. Does anyone happen to know if that spare tire carrier fit more than the first gen Blazers. Picture attached.

I personally own both carriers. They're slightly different but once a tire is bolted on you really can't tell the difference.

The picture of the one you posted is a 69-72 style. In the picture, the tire hold down bolt is in backwards and the smaller bolt is for holding the jack. Here's what 73-74 style looks like...

When I got my Jimmy I found the original spare with 70s rubber on it in the trunk carrier. It cant have been out of it's mount behind the rear seat more than once in it's lifetime.

I really liked the wingnut that holds the metal plate that secures the rim to the carrier. It's a cool shape for a wingnut.

Does anyone know if this was stock for a 72 GMC Jimmy?
The seller was the son of the original owner, a gentleman in his seventies and he thought so.

Next to the wingnut is a tea candle for proportions.

What’s the difference between a van carrier and a 69/72 carrier ?
Any pics?

I think van was side mount with stubby leg that attaches to wheelwell. Mine was from 74 jimmy

For 69-72 K5s a lugnut was used to secure the spare tire on the holder - no wing nut

I kind of like the wingnut. I'm keeping it!
