Feeling like

spring around here lately. I told the wife Saturday it looks like we'll be mowing in a few weeks. Earliest ever for us.
I'll be dipped if we didn't see someone already mowing later that morning. It was mostly onions but he was cutting them down. ;)
We're forecast to have mostly 70s this week.

I'm ready for it. I like to work on my lean-to but it's been too cold lately.

Crisp clear 27* in the Motor City this morning.

27 is not unusual, but crisp and (especially) clear is.

Seems we are the last area to get warm weather . But conversely our fall is warmer than most think it’s due to the Atlantic Ocean influence. Was 11 this morning

I noticed that it's greening up around here too. It's 58 degrees right now which is okay but it's been raining for 3 days which isn't so great.

I wanted to work on the dune buggy but the first job will be bailing out water with a bucket.

46 degrees here today. Zero snow. Sunny and bright the next few days.

For us, multiple days in the 70s in mid Feb is just nuts!

Count your blessings buddy. I'm waiting for those 70 degree sunny days. I might get something done. Probably not but maybe. :)

i'm so f*^king sick of rain out here, need to spray weeds but it never dries out enough, i was able to mow week before last even though it was still wet. i need to mow again but the rain won't stop and to top it off i caught COVID again. the first time i had it was mild, this time it's kicking my a$$. my son and daughter in law went to my pharmacy and picked up paxlovid 300 and it is supposed to shorten the duration of the symptoms.:waah:

Boog,
Green onions use MSM Turf and that will get them. This early spring has caught me off guard. Have not got my pre-emergent out yet as it's not supposed to be this warm! Thought I had a couple more weeks.

Oh well, I guess I'll just deal with the weeds and take the good weather.

Here is our Forcast for central Iowa. I think this is the warmest February on record here so far.

Our average high for this time of year is 37º and our average low is 20º .

I hope that that medication helps you. My son works at a local big box construction store, and we're pretty sure that the big C must have swept through our house more than once, but we've never had any bad symptoms. We've had a couple of bands of rain (that I'm certain you've seen) sweep through today that absolutely flooded the streets here. My neighbor across the street and one house east died last week, and the people cleaning out his house just stood inside the garage while those deluges came down. Those two guys threw pretty much everything that the owner had into a 30 yard dumpster, and a metal recycling guy showed up with a high-sided trailer for a lot of the remainder that might have scrap value. The owner was divorced and retired from teaching (so I heard from neighbors) before we moved into this neighborhood, and kept to himself. I don't think that I heard 50 words out of him in 22 years. Long story, sorry.

I'm not so sure about spring being here yet. We can get a good snow at the end of Feb. It's been low 20s in the morning and 40s in the daylight, which is spot on February weather. W-48* sunny, Th-52* rain in afternoon, F-53* rain, S-40 sunny & windy, S-50 part sun, M-63 part sun, and T-64* 40% rain. Typical weather these days. We have the early flowers sprouted, but I'm not getting too excited about spring happening yet.

I sure don't get anyone being so eager to start mowing grass, even before it has started to grow. There will be plenty change for mowing coming up. Some people are plum anal about their lawns, or have no hobbies and are bored out of their skull. For me it's time to pick up sticks and cut back perennials and shrubs, rake leaves out of the flower beds. then mulch next month. I like to let the grass grow a bit before the first cutting

Personally I'm "feeling like" leaving the east coast and moving to AZ. Hopefully in 5 years.

We have gotten snow well into April here . Don’t last but a few hours with the sun . The last big one was the April fools blizzard of 1997

I will always remember that storm. My shop got broken into and they stole a bunch of expensive equipment.. From my office window I could see the footprints in the snow where the thieves went.

Re: Feeling like

We have gotten some of our worst cold weather in March some years but times have changed. We received an ice storm 2 days before we wed on March 14 1975. We were skinny young adults then so there was plenty of additional snuggling went on because of the single digit temps. ;)

All good. Interesting. Sorry to hear about the guy. Hate to hear about people's stuff getting tossed out rather than sorted through.

We had a thunderstorm come through last week. Some rain with strong winds. Afterward my maroon 91 sportside had bloomage stuck all over it. A couple of my trees are trying to bloom out already. Our 10 day forecast calls for mid to high 70s most everyday. I'm down with that. ;)
